Still hell of a quiet board here too implying the mass crowds have not found this one yet. Fine by me - that's the way I like them, in early when all is quiet.

I wonder how many folks bought these at 3p. Not many, I reckon, but those that did would have made a 1000% profit so far.

I'm still underwater, but not as deep.

I know, I'm trying to get a feel for what's going on (and decide whether to bail after 2 years and finally being in profit!).

Some basic research wouldn't go amiss IMHO . . . Avis Budget Inc and Avis Europe are completely independent of one another . . .

Company Structure

Avis and Budget are recognised all over the world as strong and truly global brands. The quality and service behind them are delivered through a network of wholly owned subsidiaries and licensee partners. Avis Europe operates the Avis and Budget brands and systems throughout Europe, Africa, Middle East and, through Avis only, in Asia.

Avis Budget Group, Inc., quoted in the US, operates extensively throughout the rest of the world. Although they are independentlly owned, the two companies work in partnership to provide a global service for customers, wherever the customer is renting.

NEW YORK -- Shares of Avis Budget Group Inc. fell on Thursday after a UBS Investment Research analyst downgraded the rental car company to a "Sell" rating, saying it is likely to miss its debt requirements in the fourth quarter.

Avis shares dropped 25 cents, or 5.1 percent, to $4.67 in morning trading. The stock has traded between 34 cents and $18 during the past 52 weeks.

William Truelove, who previously had a "Neutral" rating on Avis, said its current valuation is too rich given the problems facing the company.

The analyst said Avis is unlikely to meet a debt covenant requirement in the fourth quarter. He predicted that the debt will be renegotiated to a higher interest rate as a result.

He also said Avis' cash flow from reducing its fleet is unsustainable and travel demand is unlikely to rebound until the second half of 2010.

When is the 1 billion debt due to be refinanced?
Already a PE of 10 at this level so any increase in interest could make this expensive imho
