There was a young chap named Russman
Who chose to invest in an Airbus, man
When the company value dropped
To posting riddles did he opt,
But the only career choice left was a dustman

The banks do seem keen on the asset backed senior debt in this sector. I suspect they view these types of deals as relatively secure and rewarding given the type of aircraft involved. I guess we will see soon when the second new airbus is due for delivery to Veitjet.

If in doubt, state the obvious.I perceive the biggest risk to be funding. If the markets get spooked; everyone i.e banks will cut back on lending.AVAP is not A credit.

My working numbers for that sold aircraft, VH-FNP (MSN 429):
Income a measly $0.6m/ year
Likely book value $5-6m
Likely increase over book value $305k
Weighted Average A320 age decreases from 6.4 to 6 years*
Overall AVAP fleet age goes from 4.3 to 4.2 years*

*At next reporting date

The A320 was the same one which was noted in the interims in Feb as being agreed to be sold for "full book value". Would have been useful to reiterate that in today's RNS, why they didn't makes you wonder...

I dont really see the point in telling us the 23 year old airbus was sold without the price sold for and book value and maybe even income it was producing, would be useful to be able to better model how the things change in value vs the depreciation charge

Well I was suggesting that there would be some news before the closed period descends.Exponential growth sucks in capital.News on future funding would be gratefully received.

There seems to have been a significant amount of cats pulled from bags aleady in the 50 weeks so far. It has been a year of rapid growth although as we are all aware the figures to June will only tell a bit of the story.

The bonds are usd bonds listed in Singapore so its a local issue, Singapore is trying to encourage the leasing business, I am also based in Singapore and I have met Jeff here , apart from being about 15 feet tall he seems a decent guy and knows what he is doing as well as having plenty of skin in the game from previous successful ventures being reinvested into avap ...

I am looking at the S&P High Yield Bond Index.
Rating B : Any reason AVAPs bonds YTM is relatively high (I mean a lot).
Is it because they are non US-domicile.
