There's something very strange going on here. The latest few RNS have all been positive, phoenix from the ashes etc.., and this latest one opens up huge potential business opportunities......yet the share price hasn't moved. I think that the share price is being held down until the 92.5%+ insider owners decide to unleash the 'coiled spring'....... possibly with an interested party take over when Hylas4 is fully operational?

Thanks Jak - excellent summary - wow

Hhhmm . those who took equity for debt will lose all then IF co falters ?

Has the new CEO any skin in the game

Presume there is a genuine obvious incentive (?) to get the extra life support in time ?

Maybe the debt holders have it by short and curlies and will take any upside value going fwd the co may achieve

Haven't looked at this for some time fearing it would likely be game over unfortunately for shareholders.Debt for equity swaps it seems have gone some way towards keeping equity listed. Is there genuinely an upside potential now (recovery) ; I think the market cap is £130 million (!) with all the new shares created I guess. That's not insignificant. How much remaining debt are they still carrying ? - quite a bit I think. Is revenue growth for cash flow / profit creation their same challenge ?Thanks all.Is it fair to say those that took shares for debt did so as believing it can mend ? Maybe they had little choice but to take shares.

How much went to ESA? What was the profit margin after operational costs?https://web.archive.org/web/20150416233120/Sounds like the Indonesians were the pre-existing customer?

I hope you guys are right. Seeing the signs of recovery, I have just bought back in again after a spell of depression. Hopefully I can make back what I lost by selling my last tranche.

Posted today on LSE BBRE: avantiNot surprised we're seeing trades on the back of this news. Given our special relationship with the US you can bet your house on Trump wanting utilise our ALL BRITISH birdies to the full especially bearing in mind where they can point ! Not long now to see us rise from the single digit doldrums !

........and news like this certainly gives AVN plenty of potential added value.....

........given that the d/e insiders need circa 20pps to break even on their investment, and own in excess of 92.5% of the company, a few meaningful contracts going forward and a nav of circa $1bn could well push the share price towards 30p.

With 2.2 Mio traded, I think that investors are finally waking up to the idea that there is a viable potential here, and once Hylas4 is fully open for business, AVN could well become a takeover target.

Hi Zap......how's your OPHR
doing?.....I see that Cooper finally walked the plank..(with a huge payoff no doubt). Tanzania, as all OPHR shareholders know is a corrupt economic and political minefield, so I can't see anything ever being sold or monetised there, especially considering all the $bns spent in write-offs over the last 6 years. .....so yet another huge write down in the offing for the company to swallow, which along with the ongoing Fortuna fiasco, has destroyed the company well beyond its ability to recover commercially or financially.

What with the OPHR $107 Mio Nordic loan that needs rescheduling this year, and the documented £150 Mio 2018 capex earmarked to paper over the cracks required to maintain the existing Thailand production, there's far too much mounting debt and expenditure for this failed company ever to survive...... struggling to produce a mere 11k-12k bod.

It's amazing how Cooper managed to squander the thick end of $3.5 BN of free cash in 6 years, got paid well in excess of £1 Mio pa.......and still managed to destroy the company (wink wink!)........I suppose he must now be a very wealthy man at shareholders expense after walking the plank (wink wink!).......

Anyway, Zap, you'll be glad to know that AVN is slowly gaining momentum, albeit with alot of tlc still needed to fully restore shareholder value. Hylas 4 should be fully operational by month end, and along with existing contracts and a couple of substantial $mio payments due, there are also signs that certain military as well as commercial entities may well be interested, going forward, in availing themselves of services that AVN will be in a unique position to provide.......not out of the woods yet by any means...but an AVN shareholder is starting to look far more healthy ......than a soon to be OPHR shareholder corpse.........but only time will tell.....of course. ;+)

From the advfn NFDS thread after I gave my -ve AVN comment

Guys - glad you are still keeping the thread going after NFDS were sold and good to see you posting your progress.

One you may like to cast your eyes over from a chart perspective that looks to have bottomed out and broken out is Avanti (AVN) which is 340p now. If it moves up then there is a gap to 430-440p levels (20% profit). Brokers all have buy notes with values of £8 to over £20. Maybe worth checking out, but please DYOR as always. I have an average entry position of 269p.

Skinny - so true. Hopefully will now finally underpin shareprice.
AVN tip I mentioned - now up over 9%. Expect > 400p by end of the week. Am willing to eat humble pie, but lets see whether this happens or not. Buywell, trust you do a little more research.

Just got quoted 5.6 to buy and 4.82 to sell. Mid price relatively unchanged...these big swings are just fun and games it seems

Never seen the market cap of a company fall by near £20m based on share sales totalling £46!!!

There is a technical reason why this 5p area could/should prove to be a bottom.
I haven't followed the company for quite a while. Are there any good fundamental reasons that the shares should go up (apart from seeming cheap)?
The info in the header is a tad out of date!

Don't bother...I just read jaKNife's post 1145 for the answer.
