buywell3 - 06 Jul 2017 - 09:33:50 - 847 of 1085 AVANTI COMMUNICATIONS GROUP PLC - AVN Chart to retest previous lows soon ? And some idiots were ramping these on other boards years back at over 300p TTNY2004 ..... 9 Apr '18 - 11:54 - 1080 of 1084 0 0 0 Normally issuance is the first steps insolvency. Not a good sign for shsreholders in my opinion. Seen this far too many times and in every occasion it's the shareholders that get screwed. Good luck all the remain.

Nothing has changed, nothing in this announcement is anything we did not already know. It is phrased in a hard way to make sure that No-one objects to the deal, and I am quite certain that they would not have gone through this hellishly expensive and complex nightmare without having adequate backstop financing available. Ask yourself the question: WHy are Chairman Paul Walsh and the Directors ALL subscribing for Shares in the Open offer at 11.55p if they think there is a potentially bad outcome around the corner ? There is not. With a cleaned up balance sheet this company will get acquired for up to 32p per share, probably by Viasat who just pulled out of their long mooted EUTELSAT JV for EMEA coincidentally hours after the successful launch of HYLAS 4, or Inmarsat who would want to stop Viasat getting access to Spectrum with which they could become a fierce competitor.

I think the prospect of VIASAT being able to enter the EMEA market will worry Inmarsat, eUTELSAT, Arabsat, SES et al. Viasat are aggressive and they will be a tougher competitor than Avanti. They do not have spectrum licenses in EMEA and Avanti can give them that. I would not mind betting that if its real, others will try to stop Viasat from owning spectrum in EMEA, and the only way to do that is to buy Avanti

.........this is the bit that I like in the RNS....."HYLAS 4 will set the new standard of affordability, quality and flexibility to Internet Service Providers, Mobile Network Operators, Governments and other Satellite Operators."If indeed Hylas4 is competitive in all these areas they shouldn't have a problem undercutting and poaching business from the competition.

Did a google search on Viasat and guess what comes up ? Viasat bought a Ka band satellite operator called Wild Blue which has sats in America a few years ago. One of the owners of Wild Blue was Tennenbaum. Tennenbaum are one of the owners of Avanti. Vista have been talking about a JV for EMEA with EUTELSAT for two years. A few hours after the successful launch of HYALS4 Viasat announces that the EUTELSAT JV is at an end. None of this seem to be a coincidence to me. If Viasat try to buy Avanti from their old buddies Tennenbaum, will Inmarsat step in and try to stop it ? Inmarsat and Viasat are current in litigation so clearly hate each other !!

Hours after the successful launch of HYLAS 4, it has been announced that the long mooted JV between EUTELSAT and Viasat has been terminated. Viasat must have an alternative strategy for getting capacity in Africa. WHAT COULD THAT POSSIBLE BE !!!!!!!!

its a good point. They could have saved a TONB of money by a) not finishing building HYALS4 and the African ground statins and b) not paying for the rocket - or at least delaying it and holding kit in storage. They clearly think the launch adds near term value

Yep.....Very impressive..... I fail to see any logic whatsoever why Avanti's financial backers would continue with all the trouble, risk and expense of developing and launching Hylas4 if they were not confident that there is a viable commercial payback on their investment. Whether this is in the form of in-house business development or a company buyout, remains to be seen.

That really was amazing. It really brings home to you what an astonishing feat of engineering it all is. Well done to those engineers who built it. Big milestone, trebles the capacity of the Company

Solus are the biggest investor in Intlesat. These guys ARE the biggest hedge funds in the satellite business and they know what they are doing. The could have wiped shareholders out, but they clearly think that a clean restructured publicly listed business is going to be easy to sell once HYALS 4 is up and running. Rocket goes up tonight at 10.34pm. Everything crossed.

JakNife I'm sure that the hedge funds are completely aware that it's been an expensive balls up.....(re. your a,b, and c) In answer to your need for future funding... My#1049 Well.... that's the whole point... isn't it. ....... Why go ahead with the Hylas4 satellite lauch and the debt for equity swap, if the bondholders felt that they would be better off getting what they could by liquidating the assets, cutting their losses and shutting up shop?..... because they obviously think that Avanti, properly managed, is a viable business. Further funding may well be needed, but I think that it will/could only be raised if they can demonstrate that it's justifiably warranted to grow a successful business going forward, and not to keep a "dead duck" on life support

They ALSO said they MIGHT book a sale of $40 million - my guess is that this is totally dependent on the successful launch of HYLAS 4, in which case no new funding needed. One should never make the mistake of thinking that the future looks like the past. The whole satellite sector is on a ten year low - in fact Inmarsat share price is now on a 12 year low. experience tells me that an industry does not go in one direction forever. Improving consumer outlook in the World will see all that reverse, and a War form the Donald would help too. But a successful launch form Avanti, an announcement of a $40 million sales and a clean balance sheet means this stock is going to look VERY different next week

......so the hedge funds are just going to dump 2bn+ shares into the market....are they?....after foregoing their first call on any liquidation proceeds and then taking a big hit on the d/e swap. Nah mate....that just doesn't add up. I agree that the recovery will take a lot of work, but the situation is light years away from the doom and gloom picture that you're painting. This stock must owe you a lot of money.......
