03/3/2018 19:50 | They provide fixed services... Not mobile. | zcaprd7
03/3/2018 11:46 | they don't actually provide a managed service for wifi on planes - its just a wholesale supply of transponders to service providers who do | terryebby
03/3/2018 11:38 | there was a press release about a year ago about a £5m contract for aero - my mate who went to the VSAT conference told me it was probably Inmarsat the buyer They referred to a $40m contract that is spending and I reckon that is what its there fore. they can use any terminals - always made a big thing of flexibility, thats why they can put stuff on mobile masts and do stuff for special forces | terryebby
03/3/2018 02:26 | Link please? I went to their website, and WiFi on planes wasn't one of the options?Maybe I'm being stupid, but I think they use fixed, vsat terminals? | zcaprd7
02/3/2018 19:19 | zcaprd7 - Avanti made an announcement last year that they had sold several million dollars worth for Aero use and the speculation was that the customer was INMARSAT who needed to fill in gaps in coverage they have over the Atlantic. the HYLAS birds are designed to work with antennas that are supplied by all the manufacturers - they are interoperable so ye they can work with planes. IF this market takes off, the lack of new satellite orders is going to make Avanti's assets demanded. not gong to make our pricing rocket (or our share price) but I do think it makes a bid at the tumble price of 30p a realistic target. Although I am in massive loss territory I did buy some more today on the weakness | terryebby
02/3/2018 16:55 | Can hylas 4 work with a plane? What kind of antenna will it use? | zcaprd7
02/3/2018 13:10 | the debt was a big component of this but two thirds are being written off. This is now a company with assets that cost $1.2bn and a debt + equity capitalisation (post transaction pending) of 4500m. Any upside above $500m from a bid will got to the equity, so the share price could easily double form here. I would however be cautious of predicting better than that | terryebby
02/3/2018 12:53 | A history lesson from Iridium:At one stage, there was a threat that the Iridium satellites would have to be de-orbited; however, they remained in orbit and operational. Their service was restarted in 2001 by the newly founded Iridium Satellite LLC, which was owned by a group of private investors. Although the satellites and other assets and technology behind Iridium were estimated to have cost around US$6 billion, the investors bought the firm for about US$35 million. | zcaprd7
02/3/2018 12:26 | so this company has invested 1.2b, yet its worth 20m. Crazy. The Group has invested $1.2bn in a network that incorporates satellites, gateway earth stations, datacentres and a fibre ring. Avanti has a unique Cloud based customer interface that is protected by patented technology. | cryptotrade
02/3/2018 11:01 | As I said, its all trivial and priced in which is why the share price has barely moved, so I was correct. Its no all about the value increase from HYLAS 4 launch. They are going to have only about $250m of debt left, with equity capitalisation at the current share price of just $250m. So a Total capitalisation of just $500m. The assets cost over $1bn to put up, plus the spectrum is not carried on the balance sheet has significant value. I think a sale at a cap of $750m is feasible in the near term which is why I think a share price of 25p is rational. This is all about what is the value of these assts to someone else like Viasat, Arabsat,Inmarsat who are more likely to have an ability to sell the megabits better because of their existing market demand in sectors like wifi on planes and US government. This is a 2018 2 bagger where we are today | terryebby
02/3/2018 09:01 | Maybe Amazon will buy them so they start offering Comms up in the sky. | cryptotrade
01/3/2018 21:11 | Net debt of $729m - ouch. | hywel
01/3/2018 17:44 | As I said earlier, at the deep discount to Capital invested that these assets trading at, its all priced in. What matters now it the enormous value catalyst coming up in two weeks time with the Launch of HYLAS 4. As long as the EU rocket we are flying on does not decide to blow us up because of Brexit, then getting that into its geostation orbit is a big increase in value for both assets and spectrum. Its well positioned because the ONLY growth market in satcomms today is wifi on planes, and the most lucrative routes are over the Atlantic. HYLAS 4 has a nice row of beams over the Atlantic between London and New York that is designed for that planes market. They sold some capacity to another operator last year for that purpose over Europe (could only have been Inmarsat or Viasat) and they referee to a $40m contract they have negotiated which is conditional (I presume to the HYALS 4 launch). So getting a good launch away means IMO that a bid will be forthcoming. None of us will make a profit (apart for the gentlemen who said he cunningly bought in very recently) but I do think if a bid comes it will be air around 30p | terryebby
01/3/2018 16:16 | take a look at the Intelsat SES announcement about Spectrum. The are clearly angling to sell some. Spectrum has value as does in orbit assets. This is such a long way below its replacement cost, that anyone who wants capacity in EMEA, such as VIASAT for example, let along spectrum will find its faster and cheaper to buy Avanti that building. There have now been three all time record years of low satellite orders. so there is NO new competition coming. Thats means that if the economy picks up and demand for bandwidth spikes, there will be a big old hurry on to acquire capacity already in the sky. I spoke to someone about Avanti the other day who knows what he is talking about who was suggesting military demand is going up again now the Donald is spending money, and that or wifi on planes could be the catalyst we need | terryebby
01/3/2018 15:40 | Its all about what's its worth to someone who sees the long term value, I agree terry and the ROI they'll get. | cryptotrade
01/3/2018 15:39 | Hi Jak, again thanks for this, something I really wanted to know. Do we know what their outgoings are, I will take a look at their accounts, but are we all clear what kind of turnover they'll need to make this company in turnaround mode and whether that is really possible over the next 12-18 months. The share price is low, so one can assume sooner or later, they'll want a return. | cryptotrade |
