Keep coming back ALG, thankfully without pulling the trigger yet. Have to agree with Freddy, with one exception, I have TBV at 8.5m against MCap of 7.6......so it has that going for it :)

Lack of director shares is a huge turn off, they simply do not want to own this firm at the moment and that is a concern.

With a forecast decline in Rev and profit for 2012 it will remain on the watchlist for the foreseeable until something changes. Good luck all.

problem here is the combination of huge director emoluments in relation to profits, no director shares, no tangible assets, working capital all appears to be borrowed, emerging pension deficit problem.....question - is this in the price?

whats not to shudder at!

and no divi........either the company is earning or it aint

After one day Toyota have come back cap in hand and given ALG the buisness back. Could see a steady rise back to mid 20s

Why frustration, one would presume you followed your own advice above and sold out before all these rumours of pending doom come and wipe ALG out. According to company reports i have received they have been doing the exact opposite of your statement above. Do you still hold??

Deuxcarr, do you hold ALG? your posts seem to be of desperation.

Investment? No dividend for years, minimal profits and no sign of growth. Hold at best....

Solid results - treading water in this climate is not a bad outcome. Share price won't move significantly until they achieve a transformative deal, but there is no reason other than market-maker boredom that it should decline any further. The CEO comments about cutting their cloth are welcome. No reason why this should not start to throw off reliable cash leading to a dividend resumption, assuming they can keep the pension liability under control.

deuxcarr, By all accounts ALG walked away from Toyota deal because Mainland Car Deliveries LTD bid to low, probably helping MCD towards having to file for adminisration in early October. Apparently there was no new distribution director and rumours suggest they have been winning new business. I know they won the Mini contract and have been told they are winning other agreement's for transport and technical. As for the management I can only talk from experience having held shares in previous companies, they tend to get the job done and have already taken ALG into positive territory at the half year. I am a share holder and will be staying for the medium/long term. Having taken time to run a rule over their competition I see ALG as No1 in this segment of the Automotive industry. Do you hold ALG shares aswell?

Looks like something just might be about to happen !

Muchos cost cutting, and now new vehicles, a decision on the Land Rover contract next week........

Hhmmm,

Whats more the last 6 months has seen an internal war on the more 'difficult' members of staff that the management have firmly won.

Im not quite sure when to buy, but this isn't looking a bad option at all. Geared for survival in a ruthless fashion.

Also heard that a big competitor of ALG has called in the administrators

Is now the time to buy?
