Given it made, by my reckoning, £9m of post tax cash in the 2nd half of 2020 (i.e. once the market was past coronavirus) I'd expect an offer in the £3.40 / £3.50 range and £4.00 not out of the question. The 20p tax settlement arrangement particularly unwelcome, Morgan Stanley will presumably run the tax cases post sale but have no incentive to get a good result. But looks like a done deal given acceptances from board and major investors. I'll be hanging on in hope of a better offer and at the least to throw my 0.001% holding onto the no deal pile. |

Posted at 01/5/2019 09:20 by danny baker Woozle, I don't think the underlying core business was doing as badly as what the share price was suggesting at 25p. Investor sentiment was badly affected by the landfill tax demands. Augean is in the right place at the right time with its North Sea business. Decommissioning costs and the money paid for them is big business now for companies in the North Sea like ENQ, SQZ and RRE. Augean has increasing strategic value so it could still perform well from here. |

I think it would be useful if you ask Edison to write a report outlining what the issues are here; I am comfortable that they could give this explanation without compromising the legal case. I am indifferent if this is done as a separate piece or as part of the commentary on the Interims when announced on the 19th. It would be useful IMO if when you announce the Interims if you could comment on what the attitude of HSBC is. If you are planning on having an Analyst's presentation on the 19th can I ask you to give thought to have this voice recorded and the recording on the web-especially if you anticipate there will be good questioning from analysts. For me this is a time and money efficient way to get your message out. Thanks and I appreciate you have a lot on your plate. unquote |
