I called them about 5 mins ago and they said the results would be out within the hour. Not sure what to make of publishing after the market closes. Edit Just noticed a link at top of page timed 15.58 with interims

Don't know why people are selling here, maybe the rapid rise from 4 to 12p has got a few people excited. They have fallen such a long way but the last statement was very reassuring. A few small sells seem to hit the price but I am keeping mine for a couple of years to make some real money.

A few weeks out of date now but presumably the type of contracts that have helped to motivate the recent price movements.

Up 0.5 despite some big (ish) sales.

The last one of 250,000 was taken at 0.25 above the bid which is encouraging.

Sales are likely to be with us for some time but it is encouraging to see the the price is not adversely affected by them (as of yet).

We have seen some short term gains but to be honest it's the long term that I am in for and I am prepared to accept the set-backs that occur en route.

The real positive moves that I am looking for will hopefully come from positive announcements from the company from time to time.

Cheers

Some degree of renewed interest in this company.

So far today a lot of trades going through mainly small - medium but indicate a growing number of investors.

The emphasis so far has been on the buys and so we are 2 up at 12 ---- 11.5/12.5

Some interesting trades going through just before the close.

At 16.21 there was a small buy of 1654 the spread was 10.0-11.5 and they went through at 11.31 - which seems OK.

Then at 16.26 there was a large trade of 180,000 (large relative to the recent trades) The spread was 10.0 - 11.5 and this one went through at 10.5.

Advfn have labelled it a sell which may mean that the market makers have taken it on at quite a bit above the bid, which would be good news.

However I am not sure what type of trade it was and advfn don't show that either so there may be more to it than meets the eye.

Welcome to Warmsum and Kumala.

Let's hope that this can be a useful thread without any extremes of ramping or deramping.

And also that Achial may be a profitable investment

Hi Th.

looks like just me and you here. Like you say I think many investors are put off by SMC's history. I think it's a completely different company now and should be an early benificary of the economic recovery. The interims were very reassuring, I particularly liked the last paragraph

We expect to see any impact of Government fiscal loosening earlier than most
sectors given our role and position in the construction supply chain. Whilst we form part of the wider construction sector, our revenue is not totally governed by the level of construction spend. Activities such as front end design, feasibility schemes and masterplanning continue to contribute to our revenue which is also enhanced by investors and clients with long term views, seeking to create value through our engagement. Consequently, we have seen our income stream remain steady despite the significant difficulties faced in some areas of the construction sector. Our level of operational gearing in the business, combined with our initiatives to increase market share, mean we expect to take advantage of our position and be at the forefront of the turnaround in the economic cycle as soon as it occurs.

Good Luck

Recent moves (and news) has attracted a number of buyers.

However for a while there will probably be a number of sellers - holders from the SMC days who could still be sitting on a sizeable loss and will be eyeing an opportunity to sell at what they consider to be the best price for their circumstances.

Certainly pleasing progress price-wise.

Decent volume measured in number of shares - but total turnover as regards monetary value is not very large.

This stock still has a credibility gap to make up but if they continue to make steady progress getting back on track they could gradually attract a good following.

If they are doing well in the present environment they could really shine when things look up.

I only have a small holding at present but I am open to gradual accumulation.
