22/4/2012 20:53 | brandon Appreciate the feedback from master investor show,as for the t1ps gold fund you are right as they have been a leader and won awards.Just had another look at the last results and noticed they actually posted a profit of £1.06m last time ( tax free as caymans registered ) and also EPS of 0.62p. Next nav statement due this week anytime from monday and results either friday or monday. | sinatrasmile
22/4/2012 12:03 | sinatra, could not agree more on that, just skimming through the rns,s it seems like they have around £4m-£5m in investments under management and a cash reserve.Had a bit of feedback from masterinvestor from a pal and he says tom sounded very bullish on the gold sector at moment and hinted that t1ps gold fund has been doing well of late ( and ahg have much the same coverage ) so maybe a clue the next nav and results coming shortly may be half tasty :-) | brandon72
21/4/2012 13:44 | brandon, You have the honour of being the first poster to my thread lol ! Have just recently invested here myself and think athol is very good value under 0.25p from the various reports and statements i have read.Tom W back in charge makes this a screaming buy at these levels and although i dont often invest in smallcaps i have a good feeling about this one. They posted a profit last time out of £1M and their net asset value looks to be double the current share price ..hence why i invested. Nav statement and results out over the next week or so :-) | sinatrasmile
21/4/2012 12:58 | SS, a great move by athol to put tom back in the driving seat and this looks hugely undervalued at moment. My brother is attending the master investor conference in london today where tom is speaking so will feed back any info he gets. Think i will grab a few of these monday ! | brandon72
20/4/2012 22:31 | The Company's Investing Policy is to acquire shares traded in London on the LSE, AIM or PLUS and on the TSX and ASX by participation in public offerings or via secondary markets. The aim of Athol is to be a passive investor and it will not be seeking to gain control of any company merely to buy shares which it considers to be fundamentally undervalued and offer scope for material returns within 5 years. There will be no geographic, sectoral or company specific concentration restrictions or limit on the number of investments made. The key strategy is medium/long term only ungeared, value investing with an objective of continuing to deliver market beating growth in its Net Asset Value per share. The Company's prime focus for cash investments will be to continue to acquire holdings in natural resources, with a particular focus on precious metals such as gold and silver while the value inherent in precious metals is as clear cut as it is at present, which the Directors believe are undervalued and where one or more such transactions have the potential to create value for Shareholders. The Company will also seek to acquire investments or investment portfolios from investing companies or other sources or in the secondary market which the Directors believe are undervalued and where one or more such transactions have the potential to create value for Shareholders. Such acquisitions will be purchased primarily through the issue of new Ordinary Shares to the vend ors of such investments or investment portfolios. Returns to shareholders are expected to be by way of growth in the value of the Company's shares. It is the Board's current intention to hold investments for the long term. The Company publishes a quarterly update on its Net Asset Value. | sinatrasmile
20/4/2012 14:33 | Just took a nice wedge of these this morning :-) Nav statement and results due before end of april possibly on the 25th and signs are the books looking healthy, posted a £1m profit last time. Looks like it could mak some decent gains to me. | enshare
19/4/2012 14:59 | Luckily for TW they value holdings at screen prices not realisable value if sold. That would be very different. | argy2
19/4/2012 12:57 | Still the same at 0.33p NAV -- no chance what-so-ever. They hold many PLUS market stocks that rarely trade and when they do it is often at a price well wide of the price last traded -- little chance of liquidating these. Since the last NAV almost every gold stock has fallen and the last to do so was Chaarat Gold. Norseman is TW's perceived biggest faller both in share price and asset loss -- TWs' interests are a major holder, over 5%, in NGL ASX:NGX. Still, TW has said he will be taking, what appears to be the helm, at Athol and that in itself is encouraging. He looked a bit down in his recent update on AHG, not bombed out indeed, but maybe, just maybe, ATHOL and TW will ride again. I will continue to add at 0.15p when the chance comes round again, if. | noirua
19/4/2012 10:15 | MM,s allowing buys at bid price of 0.17p :-) | shaun09
19/4/2012 00:03 | Ripped post from LSE,it seems athol have £330.000 worth of loan notes in Silvermere Energy. Rns Link for details -------------------- In ref to athol they are mainly resources based investment vehicle that is currently trading at a near 100% discount to its net asset value, after recent portfolio aquisitions at a market low point they have extended their coverage and one that took my eye was a £330k stake in SLME, they also have good sized stakes in both Ascot mining and Ariana which are two companies with great potential that have recently taken a hit on their respective Sp,s ,they due to announce next Nav in last week in april and closely followed by their actual results. Judging by tom,s latest video he hints that their Nav is much the same as last ( 0.33p ) and a chance their results will be half decent ( were in profit of £1m + last time ) . I see this as undervalued | shaun09
18/4/2012 15:44 | Infact i just bagged some :-) | shaun09
18/4/2012 15:37 | Just seen the video and think he was hinting heavily that the NAV is still around last one of 0.33p and the results will be good.Does look a soild buy at under 0.20p to me. | shaun09
18/4/2012 12:02 | Ha ha. I won't be able to listen to the report till I get home later, but I agree with the hair cut comment. Christ. He looks half-cut by my reckoning. | hezza123
18/4/2012 11:47 | it looks like he cant afford a haircut ! "not looking to buy any old rubbish" "in fact we dont buy rubbish at all" lmao who is he trying to convince ! m | maurillac |
