DJIA is hitting the 50 day MA, down 400 points; Russell 2000 and Nasdaq have crashed through the 50 day MA...next stop 200 day and then a 'death cross'?

Meanwhile volatility rising rapidly...VIX up to 18.60 and VILX 4.06...

Actually Husbod...if you look back at the post vote reaction, when overseas earners prospered, that suggests that any uplift in sterling will affect especially miners as their earnings drop in sterling terms...

AIMHO of course...

On the other side of the coin rouge if we get a Brexit settlement our unloved and underpriced market could get a major uplift. Not that that should affect ATYM though.

Watch out below...

Whilst ATYM is a strong story, growing numbers of experts are worried about a 'financial shock' (cf IMF warnings today...)

Goldman and others are confident that if equities and bonds sell off, commodities/miners may be the next play and as many have pointe out on here, the world and her husband are talking up copper...

Nevertheless...

The Nasdaq 100 fell through the 50 day Moving Average on 4 October and...

Right now...today...the S&P500 and the Russell 2000 are sat bang on the 50 day MA...

The Russell 2000 is widely regarded as a lead indicator of future market moves and, until recently had outperformed the S&P and Dow as investors switched to smaller companies...

You pays your money...you takes your choice...

In the meantime, leaving ATYM and SOLG aside for a moment, I remain strongly committed to Kincora Copper and will also buy Xanadu when funds come available...

Both major future copper plays in Mongolia...

GLA and AIMHO as usual...

Good results. Next would like to see the licensing issue resolved and the Astor case settled.Operationally ATYM are doing very well, just need these legislative issues to be resolved. Touro represents major potential upside

Very tight spread at the moment. What does that mean?

Can't fault it; just a pity about the copper price.

Nice quarterly report. Probably the best I've read yet from Atalaya.
Given the recent period of weaker copper prices,it's just what we needed.
I bought some of the one's I sold at 157p back yesterday, on the basis that China had been closed for trading last week, and probably knocked the copper market, and it was due a bounce. Given I see them as net buyers. It was intended as a quick trade. However given this report I will likely hold back from selling that trade.
Future looking good here if Copper can hold strong until we reach the point shortages become a reality.

Record quarterly production results - raised production guidance for full year 2018 - slightly lower costs than 2018 guidance - upgrade of Rio tinto on track - all docs now submitted for touro - more drilling success indicated to increase Rio tinto reserves - what's not to like? Outstanding results - well done to the team!!!

A nice update this morningCopper production at Proyecto Riotinto for Q3 2018 has exceeded expectations, reaching a record 11,055 tonnes. This is the highest quarterly copper production since the project was re-started

As the metals world descends on London this week, it seems everybody has something in common: they're all copper bulls.Speaking ahead of the annual LME Week gathering that starts Monday, more than a dozen commodity-focused hedge funds, trading houses, producers, banks and brokers were almost unanimously positive on the near-term outlook for the metal used in pipes and wires. Metals specialists consistently pointed to the disconnect between between big-picture concerns for the economy and a rapidly- tightening physical market.

My impression is that the Board intend to stay independent indefinitely...why wouldn't they...increasing Rio Tinto mine life...Toure to come...additional metals...Spanish mainland...a focus for other mining activities...

Prospectively a mini RTZ...?

Although no doubt Trafigura will have a major say. I've always thought that any remote possible takeover would involve Traf, en route to it emulating GLEN...

For the time being, clear Astor; rising copper prices; steadily improving business and financial performance and...one day...£10 plus...

AIMHO and GLA

Husbod I saw potential here when we had no permits and no money, once again my bad, I blame no one but myself for my bad judgment. But at this stage, the fundamentals, the potential growth, the location, the debt or lack of, and the price, I would be surprised if someone doesn’t show an interest sooner or later. Back to the facts someone sees fit to invest heavily at the current levels and they'll want a return on that, that gives me confidence going forward.

Hmm - my experience of AIM is that big buys can sometimes mean that someone has inside information that becomes public knowledge a few weeks later. Not always of course - our buyer might just see the potential here - but you never know.

Aye, I do rougepierre, my bad, well spotted. Regarding maiden dividend, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if it was associated with the Glencore shares, or such like, that we receive as part payment in return for our stake holding here.

It’ll be interesting if the buyer comes back for today’s sells, we know that he’ll pay 164p it’s just if there’s enough stock to make it worth his while, I suppose.
