23/11/2017 16:33 | Profile piece on Alberto A Galician who worked in the mines of the Congo leads the Touro project Mining companies inject five million in Touro's project This will pay Touro's copper 'macromine' Atalaya, domiciled in Cyprus, is controlled by five investor groups; Alberto Lavandeira leads the projects after passing through the mines of the Congo Digital Economy Galicia September 29, 2017 (7:00 PM CET) The project to reopen the Touro copper mine arose from an alliance between the Galician company that has activity in the area, Explotaciones Gallegas , and Atalaya Mining , a listed company with domicile in Cyprus, but important links with Spain and Galicia. The most obvious, that its two main projects are in the State: the Rio Tinto mine in Huelva , which is under development, and the Touro mine in Galicia, which is in the process of being processed . But also the first line of managers has roots in Spanish soil. At the head of the Atalaya operations in Spain is the Galician engineer Alberto Lavandeira , who was president of Río Narcea , the company that was the holder of the mining rights of Corcoesto before transferring them to the Canadian multinational Edgewater , who was the one who tried unsuccessfully to start the exploitation of gold. The most important development of Río Narcea was the Aguablanca copper-nickel deposit in Monesterio (Badajoz), now in the hands of Sacyr. The Mutanda mining complex Lavandeira, "with 38 years of experience in the development of mining projects", according to the information transferred by the company, arrived at the farms of Huelva and Touro after passing through the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He was director of Samref Overseas SA, a company associated with mining giant Glencore , a group that presented revenues of 177.4 billion dollars in its last full year. Glencore paid $ 960 million this year to shield control of Congo's copper and cobalt mines in Mutanda and Katanga. According to Morgan Stanley, the operation could turn it into the largest copper miner in the stock market , beating Chile's state-owned Codelco and Freeport, which foresee production contractions. In the direction of Samref Overseas, a position he held between 2007 and 2014, Lavandeira worked on the development of the Mutanda mining complex, also located in the province of Katanga, for the extraction of cobalt , as a company associated with Glencore, although not as a subsidiary , as they clarify in Atalaya. Later it would arrive at the Rio Tinto project and the activation of Touro's development. Another of the managers of Atalaya, the head of operations Julián Sánchez , was also in the cobalt mine in the Congo. Promotional video of Fleurette Group, which sold its stake to Glencore, on the exploitation of Mutanda / Fleurette Group Five investor groups The ownership of Atalaya is diversified, with the reference shareholders being diverse international funds. Trafigura Beheer BV (22% of the capital) and Yanggu Xiangguang Copper Co. Ltd (21.9%) are the first shareholders. Between the titles in the hands of the managers and those that control five investor groups add 79% of the capital. The other significant shareholders are Majedie Asset Management Ltd (6%), Liberty Metals & Mining Holdings LLC (13.8%) and Orion Mine Finance (14.5%). The intention of Atalaya, as it has made public, is to progressively increase its participation in Galletas operations as the Touro project advances, until taking control of the project. In a certain way, it already has it, because it will provide the capital and know-how for the exploitation, which is still pending the pertinent authorizations. The company is listed on the London Stock Exchange (AIM) and Toronto (TSX). | waterloo01

23/11/2017 15:59 | So any speculation on PRT as you're not all 6ft under just yet? Costs? -Somewhere between $50m and $90m? Exploration results? - They have only teased to-date Funding? - Mix of sources but will it involve equity? | waterloo01
23/11/2017 15:49 | #waterloo01, I think the ISA wrapper being CGT free, and with dividend income tax free will work better for me than the IHT bonus.. :o) Copper on a roll @ $3.17/lb + Q3 $2.33 AISC, this will be coming down as have now dealt with the debts carrying interest, the YTD cost of debt finance were c$0.05/lb, and these are gone now.. | laurence llewelyn binliner

23/11/2017 10:21 | Says something about the shareholder base when the only replies to a question on PRT expansion involves a trip down 1960's/70's memory lane. | waterloo01

22/11/2017 15:04 | You're all wind. Looking forward to the expansion details, quite likely next week IMO, so the questions is what is the likely cost and how is that to be funded. Further they have been doing quite a lot of digging so what do folk expect in terms of grades and it's effect on mine life? If the costs come in at say $75m, could all of that be funded from a mix of cash, off-takes, transmine type lending with a touch of supplier credits and increased flexibility from the likes of Traff? | waterloo01
21/11/2017 18:40 | Yup Copper up to $3.15/lb again as the traders have their fun and games.. what we really need to do in the next week or 2 is announce a plant expansion from 40,000 to 55,000 Tonnes and then another Copper project pipeline, let's say called Touro adding another 35,000 Tonnes with feasibility and supporting 43-101 pre Xmas, and be selling into the market with an increasing margin from upwards of a $1/lb .. Oh wait.. I think we've got it covered.. :o) | laurence llewelyn binliner
