Cesar Sanchez is not Finance Director, he is Chief Finance Officer...and no it's not the same, because he is not a Board Director

He has no links to Trafigura, being formerly at Iberian Minerals

Which company is Alberto a NED of?

RP I am not saying a placing is a fact, I am saying it is a possibility, we have been screwed before.

Al is clearly stretching himself being a NON Ex director for another company, is this because he knows he will be going back on his word of no placing and so is lining up his next job?
He really shouldn't have the time to be a part time CEO when the business is at the stage we are.
So what gives?
The Al share purchase was from his huge bonus for doing his job, not from his salary. He was under pressure to show himself putting his hand in his pocket as he hadn't done so in years.

The biggest tell is the new Finance Director (lets not forget the FD traf connections) hasn't put his hand in his pocket at all and he has been with us enough time to fully understand the books and know Trafs agenda.

We will see, I note the usual pattern of buying on the run up to the next block of news and then a further sell out as the statement will be its usual style of leaving more questions than answers.
Any takers on a small wager that there will be no statement clarifying that "In anticipation of a positive outcome of this study, the Company is currently evaluating different sources of financing." that there will be no placing being considered for the sources of financing

AL is averaging down . . . Unfortunately his previous purchase on the open market wasn't very prudent given how the last placing turned out . . . For the record I am not saying there will be a placing in capital letters as if it is fact . . . I am merely suggesting it's a possibility and that may be why the share price is down here . . . Even husbod conceded there may be a placing around 120p . . .

Also don't think there will be a placing as Alberto would not be buying on the market.

No I don't. It is clearly an opinion, like MDS, not a fact as he claims...

However, a placing makes no sense whatsoever...

As waterloo says, why would Alberto, of all people, spend 40% of his after tax income buying £74k of shares, if there is a placing anywhere near the offing...?

LMAO . . . And you are using that logic to tell us there won't be a placing . . . We had similar posts prior to PIs getting screwed over by the major shareholders last time . . .

So just to clarify . . . You don't KNOW if there will be a placing or not . . .

This is also a FACT MDS...

"In anticipation of a positive outcome of this study, the Company is currently evaluating different sources of financing."

Where does it state that they are looking at a placing? It doesn't even say ALL alternative sources f finance.

First, if copper hit $3 and stayed there, there would be no need for outside financing (do the numbers);

Then there is Transamine and there is 'creditor stretching'. Orion have lent money to Weatherly.

But the most obvious one is that if either the Appeals Court reasserts the Judge's decision, or...

Once we have paid off Astor...

There would be no reason not to use 'Senior Debt' and the supply of that has definitely returned to the mining sector.

There is no shortage of finance from banks, let alone specialist lenders...

And the advantage of a revolving facility is that you can repay it any time...in the long run, once we are paying dividends, equity is much more expensive...

your right Acamas and while the company doesn't address the obvious concerns, you like many sit on the side lines waiting and many LTH like me hold our fire power on the anticipation of Traf stitching us up again with a equity raise.

RP - I think the share price and a major seller is proof enough isn't it?
1. there is a clear big seller with a lot of shares.
2. The market has no appetite for our story, so the sellers shares aren't being enthusiastically mopped up, so the price drops.
3. Al has being banging our drum and trying to sell us to institutions for over two years and not one new intuition has taken a stake in us in all that time.

I look forward to your facts to rebuff mine other than your opinion.
Over the years I have voiced my concerns and the pint over flowing posters like you have gone, we LTH can remember numerous enthusiasts that have come and gone over the years, strangely as one goes another appears under another name. Funny that.

While they always tell everyone how it is a screaming buy, the share drops rises a little then drops again. And so we still sit and wait and will be sitting and waiting this time next year while Astor will not be resolved and another raise has happened.

But lets see this time next year

despite what RP posts in favour of ATYM there is no sustained buying to create momentum in the share. My view is this is a contrarian type share you buy now in the hope that it will turn up significantly with time. However 6 of my 7 shares(correction all 7 are blue) this morning are blue and the other has not moved. There is no incentive for me to return till things happen with this share. It needs impulse

Where is the factual basis for "they clearly have inside information".....?

I hate Corbyn...

oh dear RP are you a Jeremy Corbyn supporter in that you feel everyone must agree with you and if thy don't they should be silenced?

Strange because there is a Redknight on another board is that you?

I have voiced my opinion, sorry my ideas are not in tune with yours, but you have been saying how this is a screaming buy for the last 6 months, but the market has seen it as a sell hence the price has drifted by 50%.

Yes there is a seller, and they clearly have inside information that makes them feel that your opinion is wrong.

We all know the numbers will be great within the next two weeks, but Astor, financing our expansion, further acquisitions (at what price), expansion costs of the new mine, our CEO only working part time while he plays a Non Exec in a company we have no financial interest in, all hang over us.

There is no evidence at all that there will not be a dilutive equity raise as was clearly stated in the last information shared by the company. It is your opinion this will not happen, but the company has not stated that this is not an option they are pursuing, so there for they are considering it as an option. That is a FACT

waterloo01,

I think you are correct on the chart reading about 120p. This is currently a ceiling and needs to become the next support line. Then depending on the strength it shows on breaking away from the support line we can pencil in the next ceiling on the march to 200p+

on the back of good US job numbers and the G20 meetings, copper might test $1.75 over the next week. I have a feeling the buying/buyer hasn't finished yet, although the seller is somewhat of an unknown, but together with leading into the numbers (next 10 days?) we should at least break the downtrend IMO.

I'm no chartist but it seems to me that it needs to hold above £1.20ish before it test the £1.42 number and then the recent high of £1.60.

But then again, this is ATYM.

If the PRT expansion costs 'best guess' $30-40M to unlock an extra 15,000 Tonnes a year of Copper (33M pounds) from 2019 for 10-12 years, at a $1 margin for ease of calcs, it will break even in 12 months on CAPEX.. and whatever the source of funding it would pay for itself 10 times over..

The point I am suggesting is that Traf will do what is best for Traf whatever that maybe and it may not be the best option for the PI's. There is 27% in Free float and I bet the PI's hold a majority of that figure. Which will not concern the boys in the Boardroom when they decide which road to go down

rp - bb piffle neither damages nor enhances a share price. If supporting the share price is the reason you outpiffle the rest of us put together you are wasting your time. Play more golf. The share price will still do what the share price does.

Well at least we have some share price reversal today.. :o)

On funding PRT to 15.0MTPA, we don't yet know any of the costs for the upgrade, apart from best guessing the funding needed, and we don't have any indication where it's coming from yet either.. 'the company evaluates funding options'..

The scoping study will be finished for September, so perhaps we will get some colour on costs then too, we know the ore is there so I can't see any reason for the expansion not to proceed in 2018, and the costs might not be as bad as we think to unlock another 15,000 Tonnes of Copper a year for sale..

As far as possible, I try to apply a light touch to moderating this board and I am well aware that when the share price is falling faster than Mrs May's popularity then the comments become tetchier and tetchier.
I am happy to put up with Red Peter banging on about his purchases because it generally stimulates debate and we have had a wider range of contributors in the last few days than for many a month.
So, as the young people say at the start of every sentence these days, carry on commenting and carry on rebutting - it all helps pass the time until 2019 when we start to pay dividends ........ all IMHO but WTHFDAOUK

Why would there be a placing now? The PRT upgrade is small and can be done from cash and Touro doesn't yet have permitting unless I've missed something. What would they spend the money on?

It would not surprise me if a "placement" has already been discussed. Traf are good at this sort of thing could turnout to be abrasive for the PI's depending on T&C of any placement. I wonder if they are talking to any Merchant Banks about funding expansion through a share placement or even funding it themselves. Why give away anything they dont have to. A placement at a discount shall we say 110p per share to start with, may be a bit higher, who knows?
