The only difference to AstraZeneca is sentiment.

Some are still struggling with the concept of a not for for profit vaccine.

Any future commercial return would have been marginal at best.

I know a great many people that have been vaccinated, only one has had a problem and he's got over it.
Recurrence of asthma, fever and in bed for a while. He puts it down to the fact that he had a Covid like problem early last year.

In which case why has Iceland suspended vaccinations?
They are not known for being pushed around - ask the UK fishing fleet.

I don't know what data there is or whether they are being prudent or over cautious.

Until that is clearer making conspiracy stuff up sounds a bit daft to me.

Germany, Italy and France together pretty much equates to the EU in terms of remaining power, now that we've left.

So yes it is political. And yes their politicians will end up looking foolish, as they generally do.

Edit: I see the conspiracy theorists have woken up. We're all going to die from vaccines! (Not)

And someone arguing about Science, ok then please tell me of the 37 out of 17 million who had blood clots, how many had eaten toast? Or maybe baguette or croissant? If there's a correlation, better suspend bread products immediately!

sparty1 - wow, so much wrong with one small post...

I suppose you think Iceland is in the EU?
I suppose you think Norway is in the EU?
The suspensions are not done by the EU. Try to at least do SOME research.
I suppose you think one data point (yourself) is a scientific proof - do you look out the window and see it raining and conclude its raining everywhere in the world?

I think Rugby has removed your only remaining brain cell...

Add Germany to the suspended list.

"People with spot bleeding or severe headaches after vaccination with AstraZeneca should report to their GP immediately," urges Health Minister.

Why do you say 'oh dear'?

The most relevant part is:

“We have to remember that there are 3,000 blood clots a month on average in the general population and because we’re immunising so many people, we are bound to see blood clots at the same time as the vaccination, and that’s not because they are due to the vaccination. That’s because they occur naturally in the population.

“One ought to also remember that Covid causes blood clots. So, the risks of not having the Covid vaccination far outweigh the risks from the vaccinations.”

oakville, that could be an issue and it goes way beyond AZN.

It could potentially allow opportunistic COVID infections to take
hold in a partly vaccinated demographic and may increase serious mutation risk.

Recent sensationalist coverage also erodes confidence in other Covid-19 vaccines; looks a dangerous development to me.
