When a country pauses this vaccine it is all over the news but when they reinstate the vaccine then there is no news stating that.Shame really.

Phil, look what's happening in many European countries with their lower
rates of vaccination, it looks a desperate mess as a new wave of infections hits.

To be fair to Monty he called this lower from a significantly higher level.

However, the case for a short position near current levels looks murky at best.

I mentioned many times last year not to buy in to the vaccine hype surrounding AZN,
that it looked dangerous. Any vaccine premium has now been more than removed.
In the meantime we've had multiple approvals on oncology and financial results have
confirmed the longer term bullish case for Astra.

Interesting in all the alarmist reports about some countries suspending use of the vaccine, there's been not one attempt scientifically to explain any possible causative link.

I want to see how many of the reported blood clot cases had toast at breakfast. Now there's a possible link that no-ones thought of.

My target still 6275p when the bid goes through second half of this year. Vaccine a sideshow, but of course not good news.

Buried deep within another alarmist Bloomberg article this morning:

"On Monday, Thailand said it would resume its planned rollout of the shot this week, four days after suspending it, as a medical panel had decided that the vaccine did not lead to clots. Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-Ocha and some of his cabinet members will be receiving it on Tuesday"

AstraZeneca announces new vaccine delivery delays to EU
The Swedish-British group blames export restrictions. It has not been confirmed how this will affect France’s vaccination calendar - but at least a third of the doses France expects to use in March-April are AstraZeneca

France’s vaccine rollout depends heavily on the AstraZeneca vaccine because it is easier to distribute than the other two currently used
By Hannah Thompson

The vaccination rollout in the EU and France has been dealt a blow after AstraZeneca announced new delivery delays due to export restrictions. A third of the doses scheduled to be used in France’s vaccination plan March-April are AstraZeneca.

France’s vaccine rollout depends heavily on the vaccine because it is easier to distribute than the other two currently used as it can be stored at 2 to 8°C, and thus does not require specialised fridges.

The Swedish-British group said that deliveries in the first quarter of the year to the EU (so up to the end of March) would be reduced again and deliveries in the second quarter would “very likely” also be affected.

"The annual incidence of venous thromboembolism is approximately 2 in 1000 of the general population and the annual incidence of diagnosed pulmonary embolism in the UK has been reported as 7–8 per 10,000 people".

The above information from NICE.

How many people in the UK have already received the AZN vaccine..12/13 Million plus?.

Your risk of thromboembolism increases with age.

Some of those deemed at most risk have been advised to shield;
lower amount of exercise or physical activity is strongly correlated to...
risk of developing a thromboembolism.

Having the vaccine is a personal choice.
The exception being someone who "lacks capacity" where a "best interest" decision can be taken,
even then there are caveats- power of attorney etc.

bluemango, I'm yet to find a single person that hasn't had a reaction to the Astra vaccine. My wife had flu like symptoms and a temperature of 102 about 10 hours after having it. Both neighbours had reactions. Another friend has his yesterday, similar symptoms. I have mine on Wednesday...

A clinician friend of ours who gives the injection to many people each day says it seems to be normal, and indicates a good immune response. Odd that for Pfizer it's usually no more than a sore arm.

Maybe the Pfizer tracking chip is smaller ;-)

And to be honest, if the vacs were capable of doing as we were/are promised, why the lockdown. I'm hoping sars2 just runs its course and ends....if they let it.

They were warned about this, through an open letter by a group of professors/doctors.

I genuinely hope no long term side effects appear.
