Highly unlikely, it's all political theatre. They will close pubs and restaurants for sure just to make it look like they're doing something.

Non food shops may be fortunate to remain open if a circuit breaker is enacted, just my view but that's what I see occurring. Think these will be available lower down, lets see.

?? - we had shops closed for months. Tier 3 does not include shop closures, however a circuit breaker may well do. As mentioned earlier this week that is a risk here. Also coming up to a very important time for retailers.

Even the most draconian lockdown measures don't include shop closures

* JDW own a significant amount of freeholds across their estate, ABF don't. If a large Primark store is closed that's potentially very costly. It also drives Primark customers in to the hands of online retailers.

Why are these being treated differently to JDW who will most likely have to close for a month and have nothing else to fall back on?

spoole, happen to agree that longer term, however next few months to navigate with the Covid-19 wreckage. Any new lockdown likely to see ABF lower down just imv. Well done on PZC btw. Missed that one.

Coming off, think that was quite a easy call to be fair. Had a small amount under 18.43.

Will only be the hospitality industry, government can't afford to bail out anyone else!

Jester, what about tightening local restrictions impacting Primark revenue?, even if shops are not forced shut. See ABF lower down.

Re: Sold some today on fears shops will be forced shut again, hopefully wrong on that. Understand the fear, but even in the local 'lockdown' areas there's no suggestion of shutting retail stores currently.

My daughter reports back that following her visit yesterday the new massive Primark store at the Trafford Centre is excellent. She also likes the fact that it's out of town so she doesn't have to travel into the city centre. She was surprised how busy it was for a Monday even with social distancing.

On a longer term view the current price looks attractive. Primark should outperform in a challenging economic environment.

Wider UKX was significantly lower in March, needs to be kept in mind.
