08/9/2024 18:01 | If you look on social media, especially X (formerly Twitter) you will find a huge amount of negativity towards ASOS and lots of angry ASOS customers saying the won't buy from ASOS again, and will now close their accounts. But I'm sure PRIMARK, MATALAN and TK MAXX will be delighted to know this. Meanwhile, over at SHEIN, at TEMU and at ALI EXPRESS they will be celebrating loudly, at ASOS's demise. | throgmortonstreet

08/9/2024 12:21 | SHEIN OFFERED TO PAY ASOS £215 MILLION FOR THE TOPSHOP & TOPMAN BRANDS ==================== Having revealed late last week that ASOS was selling the Topshop and Topman brands to Heartland Ventures (owned by ASOS's largest shareholder Anders Povlsen for just £135 Million, it has now come to light that ASOS foolishly rejected a higher cash offer for the brands, worth £215 Million, from SHEIN and AUTHENTIC BRANDS GROUP. In recent years, SHEIN's emergence as the global leader in fast fashion clothes retailing has severely damaged both ASOS PLC and Boohoo PLC, neither of which can match SHEIN's prices. AUTHENTIC BRANDS GROUP already have a good relationship with, and are close associates of SHEIN's Executive Chairman, Donald Tang. Last year, SHEIN acquired a stake in U.S. clothing retailer, FOREVER 21, which is partly owned by ABG and as part of the deal, FOREVER 21 clothing is now sold on SHEIN's website and SHEIN's clothes are sold in FOREVER 21's retail outlets across America. | ukneonboy

08/9/2024 08:19 | As soon as I read this, I knew Jon Smith posting as QANTAS and WOLF of LOSERVILLE and WOLOLOL and AJ NOT VERY BRIGHT and RIVINGTON STREET and LOSSES would go into absolute meltdown........ and I was right again !! LOSS MAKING CLOTHING RETAILER, ASOS, TO START CHARGING CUSTOMERS FOR RETURNS ==================== Coming into effect from 8th October 2024, ASOS will be imposing a £3.85 charge for returns. Most customers who order from ASOS, typically fall into the Gen Z or millennials categories and are highly critical of this additional cost, stating they have no choice but to return garments as the brand's sizing is both inconsistent and unreliable. A huge backlash has erupted across social media platforms. Angry customers posting on X (formerly Twitter) have all been saying the same thing about ASOS clothes: "These online stores need to get a grip – people are returning clothes because ASOS sizing is rubbish and we can't try clothes on before we buy." Another customer posted: "If ASOS don't want returns, they should open physical stores." In recent years, ASOS has seen its popularity decline and its sales fall due to increased competition from fast fashion rivals SHEIN and TEMU, who offer similar products at much lower prices with FREE returns. | factsandfigures
