Operational review

We have continued to focus our sales resource on our major client relationships
including Laing O'Rourke, Stanhope, Grosvenor Estates and BAA. In the early
part of 2006 the Group was pleased to be awarded a contract for the provision of
collaboration services to the Lansdowne Road Stadium Development Company Limited
(Dublin) and subsequently to the Dublin Airport Authorities Pier D project at
Dublin Airport. In August 2006 Asite was designated as preferred supplier to
the Welsh Health Estates "Designed for Wales" initiative. This has seen five
contracts awarded already and a steady pipeline for 2007.

The focus for the Group for 2007 and beyond is to concentrate on growing sales
and we started the year with a significant win in Abu Dhabi - Al Raha Beach
Resort. This project, a new city district on 6.8m square metres of reclaimed
land, will run for 12 years at a construction spend of US$14.700bn.

IF THIS DOES NOT MULTI BAG QUICKLY I WILL EAT MY HAT..

About Asite : News : Asite COO joins board of industry alliance.

Press release

Asite COO joins board of industry alliance.
5thJuly 2007

Asite COO Nathan Doughty has accepted a position on the board of the International Alliance for Interoperability (IAI) UK Chapter on behalf of Asite. The appointment underscores Asite's leadership and technical innovation in the construction industry through delivering on the Egan Agenda with the Collaborative Building Information Model (cBIM).

The IAI is an alliance of organisations dedicated to bringing about a coordinated change for the improvement of productivity and efficiency in the construction and facilities management industry (Building Smart).

The technology is here and it is now up to the construction industry worldwide to implement significant changes for productivity growth and efficiency enhancement. Building Smart is an IAI initiative that offers an industry wide forum for the industry and government to work through due process to identify, test, review, recommend and implement smart ways to deliver quality buildings and services to the facility owner.

Asite delivers complete and flexible solutions at every point in the supply chain, enabling the whole enterprise to work more closely together. Asite solutions provide key decision makers with clear visibility of their project portfolio, enabling improved communication and auditability. Asite pushes the boundaries of innovation to deliver business solutions which enable collaborative supply chains, as shown with Asite cBIM.

Asite cBIM is the first and only collaboration tool allowing the whole supply chain to interact around a centralised BIM. Asite cBIM is built on the Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) schema developed by the IAI. The independence of the IFC format means that it is not limited to CAD software or any particular software vendor. Asite cBIM Models can interoperate between software for CAD, cost estimations, simulations, scheduling, analysis and much more.

Asite cBIM recognises that different organisations within a project team will be responsible for different elements of a building, which all need to be coordinated together to ensure the overall design is correct. Rather than replacing existing products and technologies, Asite Collaborative BIM will integrate the existing BIM into one central repository allowing the whole supply chain to collaborate.

Nathan Doughty commented: "The IAI's BuildingSmart mission is based on an open and collaborative model of working that ties in closely with Asite's Rethinking Construction agenda. I look forward to continuing to work with the IAI to bring collaborative working and the Software as a Service business model to the Building Information Modelling space."

Laing O'Rourke makes 70% savings
£1.2bn turnover company, Laing O'Rourke, provider of civil engineering on the Heathrow Terminal 5 project achieved savings of 70% on the cost of tendering packages worth in excess of £10m using Asite's tendering solution.

In addition to significant administrative savings, they also shortened the duration of the tender programme and halved the amount of paper used. Laing O'Rourke and the suppliers participating in the tender found Asite "fast and simple to use" and valued Asite's customer support.

As a result, Laing O'Rourke has rolled out use of the Asite Tender tool across their whole organisation.

Just some examples here of who is using asites technology..All major blue chips.

BAA save 2% on construction costs through the use of Asite
BAA, one of the construction industry's largest and most demanding clients has awarded Asite a framework agreement to supply internet based project collaboration services. Matthew Riley, BAA Commercial Director for Terminal 5, said 'Over the last year Asite has delivered significant time and cost benefits to BAA's projects, typically reducing out-turn costs by 2%'. For a company such as BAA, who regularly spend in excess of £400 million on development per annum, this saving equates to predictable savings in the region of £8 million.

Makes excellent reading..See below..

"Gross operating margins have increased and operating costs reduced
significantly. It is most pleasing to note that the loss, pre share option
charge, recorded in 2006 fell to #0.815m, being an improvement of #0.505m over
the comparative loss recorded in 2005. Like last year, we invested heavily in
our product base during 2006 and as a result continue to see improved demand for
our collaboration and sourcing solutions in the first quarter of 2007. The
actions taken to improve margins and reduce costs over the past two years
continue to have a very real impact on the Group's performance, which is moving
towards profitability and sustainable trading."

Interesting web site Gresty.

I bought into Asite because the construction IT market is still very embryonic and given the financial backing they have and also their client list the performance of their shares is very poor. I run a medium size construction consultancy business and our own extranets are making a profit despite having had nowhere near the level of investment Asite have had.

As shareholders we need to be told what their plans are and when a profit is likely.

Asite launches a new Trading offering - Asite Secure Invoicing.
30th April 2007

Asite Secure Invoicing (ASI) is a new approach in answering the growing demand from businesses which do not require a full trading solution, but want to realise the time and cost savings of using e-invoicing rather than traditional processes. ASI provides a positive return on investment against traditional invoicing methods regardless of the number of invoices processed per month, fitting perfectly with any business. ASI is simply about reducing the time and cost of processing invoices. Any business can now reduce the cost per invoice by a minimum of 60%* through the use of an affordable solution.

Tony Ryan, Asite CEO, commented, "Asite works closely with its customers; we have listened to our customers needs and have developed our product range accordingly. Asite created ASI because we believe that the construction industry is in need of an affordable and basic trading solution, allowing small businesses to integrate with the supply chain and grow their business further. ASI has been created to help reduce the fragmentation of the UK construction industry and allow further supply chain integration."

GT - you commented: "... without knowing fully there pricing model it is hard to say but based on their per user model comments it is likely that lumpy license fees are to blame for the sales decline."

My understanding is that Asite offers most of its services on an ASP (aka Software-as-a-Service, on-demand) model whereby customers pay a monthly/quarterly/annual subscription for the duration of their use of the software. To support construction projects, typically the client, main contractor or lead consultant will make a single regular payment to the vendor regardless of the number of users. In short, this means no big up-front licence fee.

Asite are clearly considering a change, perhaps identifying that the single fee per project may not be yielding as much as charging per user might.

FLC - The ASP/SaaS model gives a very predictable pipeline for the vendor, but you need to know over what period that income is spread and what income is expected each FY (to the vendor this also indicates how much new work needs to be won to replace projects finishing during a FY). Clearly, £5m over the next couple of years would be very positive for Asite, but some projects have much longer durations (Al Raha beach appears to be 12 years) so short-term income from them will not be so high.

GT....Thanks for your comments. I hold a shed load of these and have been adding over several years. At each set of results I start to ask is this take off time/then share price doesn't move & then thats it for another six months or so. I was really expecting break even/profitability this time.

I'm still optimistic that it will happen & I hope we are all well rewarded for our patience.

Thanks again
