I was surprised and delighted to finally be able to exit ACHL, last week, for a mere 50% loss, rather than the 100% that I had long assumed was a done deal.

My ACHL shares are with Redmayne Bentley and are now quoted in HK$.

I remember with WCC there was the option LSE|HK but with ACHL it was kind of sudden.

My broker lists all the basket cases, (quoted or not), until officially dead.

I sourced my Asian Citrus shares through HSBC.
When LSE initially suspended trading in ACHL, I approached HSBC but they were at a loss to advise me of my options.
The next I heard:- Earlier this month HSBC informed me ACHL shares are extinct and have no value.
I ponder whether this is an official HSBC line to acquire at no cost ACHL shares to then reclaim in Hong Kong or is it incompetence.

Note I became aware, because of an entry on ADVN, that there was what appeared to be a time limited transfer option made on 27/03/2017 2:17pm UK Regulatory (RNS & others)

Anyone any thoughts please in how to prevent HSBC cancelling my shares in ACHL

on the FT web-site I see that ACHL shares are indeed traded. c750,000 changed hands yesterday.
The price is HK$ 0.185. At an exchange rate of £1 = HK$10.30, this equals about 1.8p.
I also see that "Year on Year ACHL had net income fall 95% from HK$542m to $25m despite an increase in revenues from $53m to $452m". (I have rounded the figures).
We are not told the year end in this snippet of information but, if it is a recent year, then there is life in this dog yet.

Thank you for the link.
it is a relief to find that ACHL has tidied itself up and seems, on my rushed reading of the accounts, to be concerned only in the growing and sale of oranges from its Hepu plantation.

Net assets are shown as RMB 105 million and there are 1249 million shares outstanding.
So the NAV per share is RMB 0.084 or about 1p.
Of this RMB 105m net current assets amount to about RMB 23m.

God knows !you have to be a Chinese lawyer and / or a Chinese accountant to understand what is going on. The fact they sent a bundle of reports covering 2015/6 and 2016/7 shows something is going on. Rmb loss 2016/7 28.5 million 2015/6 216.6 million. They are doing deals . My shares Might be worth a few pence in total but haven't a clue. We will have to wait and see. When I have a long journey to make on public transport i might take them to read .important point they are not paying a dividend as you might have guessed. If anything startling in them i will report back but don't hold your breath !.
Hold the presses based on the hk share price on 29/9/16 the mkt cap is 749.8 million hk S. ?????????!.!!!!!!!!!. My shares might buy a toilet roll! Perhaps I will use the company reports .Will remind me of IZAL 60 years ago!

Thank you so much for telling us this.
My shares are in a nominee name and so I have not received the accounts.
Is there any indication that trading of ACHL shares in Hong Kong or on AIM might be resumed ?
Do the accounts suggest that our shares might still have any value ?

They even used false names. The small cap brokers pushed it. Even the FT described it as a well managed company with a strong balance sheet and growing cash flow to cover its' dividend. Now iii has bought TD Waterhouse? So I guess it's in their interests to push these kind of AIM stocks. Expect more of the same.

There was research from 2011/12 that highlighted the fraud that was ACHL but investors on here ignored the research and preferred to shoot the messengers.

They (ACHL) never intended to grow Oranges successfully - it was intended as a fraud from the outset imo.

When a chinese billionaire schleps up on these shores and buys a football club at least you can see your money in carlos kickaballs right foot.I bought these after a report in share mag 6 years ago about how the growing chinese middle class want orange juice. They did'nt know ACHL were the worst orange growers in the history of orange growing.
