I won't comment on the wisdom of other people's shorts (it's not a practice I engage in). The 52w high (2358) was breached but note that the all time closing high was 2438 on 1st Oct 18 and seems like resistance.

Within 3 months of that high AHT had plunged to close at 1586 in the aftermath of the much maligned FED hike. Personally I am grateful to Mr. Powell for the best buy-in opportunity for a long time, but have now sold most of my holding in expectation (hope) of another top-up opportunity. Enough people at home and abroad with an angle of attack to cause a market drop, but is there anyone who can turn off the MCAS?

It's a breakout with a retest which is pretty normal but no one knows where price is going to go from here

The Daily chart is worth a look.

The long wick on to-days candle suggests a reversal, particularly as it failed to hold above 2400. If it is going to reverse 2357 is likely to be the next support zone.

A sizeable gap to-day and no evidence that it's a breakaway. I am watching the price and considering a short following a retrace back up.

Sold a further 10% of my residual holding at 2427.2p - what might be termed 'a covered short'

Happy to repurchase if the price falls back significantly...

Short stopped at 2385.
Originally was hoping for £24 plus from the inverted head and shoulders, but it looked to have stalled with URI pulling back.
Yep no balls of steel , but still happy with my top slice.
Will top slice again hopefully when/if it go,s over £24 and then I may try another short just for you fenners.

Looks like it wants to go to 2400. Whether it will then push on to attempt a new high I don't know.

My indicators are not yet suggesting a longer time frame short so I am keeping my powder dry for the time being.

I don't hold any AHT shares. Many years ago when I did hold them one of the institutional large holders sold 26 million shares in one hit, needless to say the price dropped like a brick. A few weeks later a rights issue was announced.....no connection of course.

It took some time for the share price to recover and I sold out at break even, the rest is history.

I prefer to trade the share, not always with success but I did fairly well a couple of weeks ago with a long.

I am currently monitoring with a view to a short. If you view the daily chart you will see that it makes major moves up followed by major moves down. I am looking to catch the next major move down which is usually worth 200-300 points.

Not much magic more 'casting the runes'. As for BP. I am unlikely to bring much joy to the proceedings. The chart remains in decline mode with lower highs and lower lows. There is the possibility that it may be trying to 'base' following the drop to a previous major swing low at 482. It needs to hold at this level otherwise next stop is at 460.

If you want me to post a chart on the BP. thread I will do so but will have to find a new upload site as TinyPic no longer offer free uploads.

A big rise over the past two weeks. Unless there is a particular reason for such a large fast rise I become suspicious. It could be due to the notes issue but the rise commenced several days before the announcement and of course it would not be known before the announcement would it?

High so far today 2359 which is a high for 2019.
