Good day ian

I think uppompeii is a little 'narked'. His application to the Guru Council for membership was rejected.

I think there maybe still hope for him as Guru.......third class.

Good day uppompeii

Of course!! I am an Elite Guru.

Having said that I thought I was tempting fate with "the target has to be 2400 even if it retraces along the way". Somewhat brave of me don't you think.

"so perhaps it will plough on to 2270 without the retrace."
============================================================

It did.

What next? If it can break out beyond 2270 the target has to be 2400 even if it retraces along the way.

Good day ian

Given the recent large rise it would be unusual to continue the rise without a retrace. To-day it dropped back to test 2100 which held so perhaps it will plough on to 2270 without the retrace.

Tomorrow is likely to confirm if the breakout is good or not.

Hi bracke,

As always thanks for your views.

Re: "If it can break above the last major high at 2210 it should be good for 2270."

We closed at 2229, following yesterdays 2223, with volume today indicated at 1.5mil.

In the TA world, is this the breakout you were looking for?

Those of you who have been paying attention to my 'pearls of wisdom' will remember Post 56984.......you don't!!! I will remind you of a particularly pertinent sentence.
"If it can break above the last major high at 2210 it should be good for 2270."

It nudged slightly above 2210 but has so far been unable to progress further. Probably taking a breather following the continuous run up to 2200. If it is to go for 2270 a retrace first may be a good idea especially if Mr Trump sorts out Mr Xi Jinping.

If the tariff talks fail the retrace may become something else.

RBC target price up to £28, they say the company did a good job explaining the business is less exposed to construction than it used to be

Does look like AHT has its mojo back, hopefully some "beat expectations" to come for this FY.IMVHO think the £2 eps is very conservative, particularly as the eps average growth for the last five years has been 30% (and buyback will help), could be £2.25, so £33.75 :)

Good morning Bracke.

I doubt that post had anything to do with it but rising sea levels might lead to some more infrastructure spending in the US.
Florida is potentially vulnerable and Sunbelt have depots there.

I do like the idea of £2+ eps and a share price of £30 though !

Good day fenners

Looks like your post has pushed the share price up to 2200.

Anyone for a retrace?

"Protecting coastal cities from rising sea levels could cost the US over $400 BILLION in the next 20 years, report reveals"

Plant hire at about 6% of infrastructure spending so another $24Bn
AHT at around 7 % of that market share ?

So extra $84m a year ?

I am inclined to agree, but I think DT will do his utmost to keep things buoyant as long as he can..

Anyway, in summary a most satisfactory week for AHT investors IMHO, lets enjoy it while it lasts.

Have a great weekend all!

Good afternoon bracke

Thanks for your views.

I think I am right in saying that the FED statement was on Wednesday, but the biggest part of the AHT rise (+120p)took place on Tuesday after the AHT results and analysts briefing webcast, but prior to the Fed announcement the following day.

This was followed by Wednesday (+20p) and Thursday (+40p). Hence I think the AHT results deserve a little more credit :-)

Nevertheless, it is always interesting to hear your views and I wholeheartedly agree that the acid test will come when the market gets a dose of realism, possibly after the U.S POTUS election.

In the meantime there are plenty of other issues that could trip us up, alas, too many to mention...
