08/9/2021 08:16 | And for the educational introduction to words derived from French ! | fenners66
08/9/2021 07:36 | As ever, this thread is worth following only for the badinage ... aside from being more than somewhat informative. | saltraider
08/9/2021 07:33 | Fenners Lol! God loves a trier :-) . | perfido
08/9/2021 07:20 | Agreed. So in theory every one of those treasury shares dividend cost is saved, so spread that around amongst the remaining.... | fenners66
08/9/2021 06:02 | Good morning fenners I believe that bought back shares are held in treasury until cancelled, and as such these shares are issued but no longer outstanding and are not included in the distribution of dividends | perfido
07/9/2021 22:25 | Yep dividends have to rise by 1.265 % just to pay the added tax ..... then there's the dividends on the bought back shares to add in , then the "growth " in EPS because of the buyback, then growth, then I suppose the new tax on that bit.... all in all should add up to a "MASSIVE" dividend increase next time around...... | fenners66
07/9/2021 22:14 | What's the problem we all make good money - give a little back - it's not hard | traderglt
07/9/2021 21:07 | Hi bracke, Disappointing to note that us 'just about managing' pensioners have been dealt another blow on dividends. A small contribution from you would have brought some relief. Your 'suspension of triple lock' dismay and concerns? I'm afraid that this puts you firmly in the 'revolting pensioners' camp with the rest of us. 'Up the workers' we say!! In the meantime, its pleasing to note that although dividends have taken a hit, share buybacks have come through unscathed taxwise? More seriously I am concerned that fenners has gone quiet, has he upped sticks and headed off to the Cayman Isles, where the financial regime is more benign, but the crocodiles less so? . | perfido
07/9/2021 15:32 | perfido I am but a poor person trying to make a reasonably honest living in this controlled market Any chance of a contribution evaporated when I read of the 'temporary' suspension of the triple lock. Will we witness revolting pensioners? | bracke
07/9/2021 14:53 | Good day bracke, I'd rather receive donations direct - can I put you down for a contribution? . | perfido
07/9/2021 14:44 | Good day perfido Think of it as investing in your old/er age. | bracke
07/9/2021 14:23 | Is nothing sacred? They have only gone and raised the tax on dividends to fund health and social care reform: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The new tax will begin as a 1.25% rise in National Insurance and tax on share dividends from April 2022, and will be a separate tax on earned income from 2023 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ doh! . | perfido
07/9/2021 14:14 | $4 Million Equipment Fraud Nets Former Rental Employee 4.5 Years in Prison ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ . | perfido
07/9/2021 13:43 | 'Just gotta find the right bus stop.'Yep, and know the right stop to get off at!......like others, I got off too early on the GAW and AHT buses, but have managed to get another ticket! (at discount). | disc0dave45
07/9/2021 12:42 | All part of the service. | bracke
07/9/2021 11:55 | Ok , just rub it in ! | fenners66
07/9/2021 11:18 | 'The one that got away' | bracke
07/9/2021 11:05 | I let it go a long time ago. One thing I have learned over the years , when you missed the bus with an opportunity , don't fret , there will be another one along presently. Just gotta find the right bus stop. | fenners66
07/9/2021 10:44 | Yesterday's mass attempt to fluff up AHTs price to £100 and beyond appears to have run into a headwind. Patience has always been a prerequisite for successful AHT investors, and stoicism is needed when setbacks occasionally occur ... (eg 2005, 2020) | perfido
07/9/2021 10:28 | Just let it go fenners, let it go :-) | perfido
07/9/2021 09:53 | Following yesterday's comment I see Games Workshop just rose to 12275.... | fenners66
06/9/2021 18:49 | Thank you for your reply Riley. I do hope you manage to extract your tongue otherwise it will give you a lopsided appearance. Yes £2.50 to £58 in 20 years is an excellent result and IF 19% annual uplift for a few years ....yes £100. I think the operative word is 'IF' but AHT does have an annoying habit of proving me wrong. We await tapering and interest rate increases with interest/trepidation | bracke
06/9/2021 18:20 | Good Evening bracke, Everybody seems to end with DYOR,I am also having great difficulty extracting my tongue from my cheek. On the other hand £2.50 to £58 in 20 years excluding the IRS blip, how does that pan out?. | riley109
06/9/2021 17:45 | I did Not buy Games Workshop at 430 because they went up - too far too fast - doh ! When they got to 11000 I thought ouch but they will slip back , the missed profit is only temporary , just don't look for a while and you'll feel better. They dropped to the 9000 mark or so , and I thought yeah you only missed out on about 8570 profit that looks much better ! I see they are now....... ...... 12000 So AHT in 4-5 years ? Who knows? | fenners66 |
