I think you have misread the chart. AHT dipped below the SMA5O but no where near the SMA 200 which is currently at 4333.87.

Daily, 3rd, 4th and 5th. Used stockchart.com
Think today it was close to upper bollinger and pulled back.

Coincidentally I have just been looking at the Daily SMA50, SMA100 and SMA200. See chart below.

What timeframe did you see SMA200 breached?

It had dipped below SMA200 which is not too common, so I bought. Be interesting to see what happens now though.

AHT has attempted to break and hold above 5700 on a number of occasions but so far has been unable to complete the task. Previously when a similar situation has occurred it has reacted by means of a gap or a long candle.

The trading action over the past 16 trading days has been 'interesting'. From 5760 down to 5300 and back to 5750.

Ashtead wants to push on higher towards £61 after the broker upgrades if not today them tomorrow we will make bigger strides to that next level.

Good afternoon bracke

Many thanks for the KETL graph and your comments, very useful and much appreciated.

Sell? I am inclined to see this one as a keeper based on fundamentals, and to ride out any troughs on the way.

Turning now to AHT, looks like we are back on course, and set to achieve new highs, IMHO, fingers crossed!

Good day perfido

I consider all AIM stocks speculative. You have found one that has delivered.
The decision you have to make is when to sell.

Looking at the chart you will note that peaks in share price are generally replicated with peaks in RSI. Currently the RSI is at a high. You will also note that it conforms well with the fibs.

Hi bracke,

punning? Pot calling Kettle black methinks!

Re todays Strix rise, this from the Strix thread courtesy of crazycoops:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
FYI, Liberum have initiated coverage with a buy rating and 460p price target which probably explains today’s rise
This AIM investment is purely speculative on my part, I am not claiming any particular skill or insight - a bit like AHT in August 1997 when I first bought in at 155p (adjusted) :-)
NAI - with apologies for off topic if needed
Good day perfido
I have KETL on my watchlist and have noted its progress. Your purchases were well timed.
Coming to the boil is an understatement. It appears ready to blow its top (two can play at 'punning'.
I presume there was some good news today to justify the 9.38% rise taking it to 367?
As for AHT its pulled back up from 5300 to 5600. We know it can spring surprises. I suppose the only possible cloud on the horizon is mention at Jackson Hole of the dreaded 'T' word.
We await events.
Evening bracke,
I thought you would be interested that my minor 'fun money' investment in Strix ('Ketl') which you looked at in April for me is now coming to a boil.
Two purchases in Apr (287.9p) and Jul (319p) totaling £5009 have now grown by 22.4%, or an annualized 142% @367.5p to £6130 and I believe there may be a little more to come.
AHT seems a little range bound for the present so it is nice to see something getting up a head of steam :-)
From little acorns grow etc.... (NAI)
You honestly believe the markets haven't priced that in or their Sunbelt 3.0 plan? IMO the £61 is realistic. I have pencilled in circa £1.1bn net profit and 234p eps (based on reducing shares in issue to about 470m), with a fairly high rating, but looks to be deserved, of 26x. Broker consensus is 199p eps but think they will easily beat that.
Not factored in potential earnings from US infrastructure to any great extent. Appreciate it is an unknown but the potential is large.
Today's Broker upgrades to a share price of £61 may be a bit conservative.
