Hi bracke,

Sorry to hear that your 'AHT shorts' have not delivered, but hopefully your trades in other areas are still helping balance the books.

You cannot be the only trader who has been caught out by AHTs surprising, meteoric, unstoppable rise, take heart I fear it cannot last forever despite what others may post, although I have now been forced to use the 'filter' option for some of the more outrageous, annoying posts..

In the meantime, a begging letter to fenners might be worth a try, I am sure he has a good heart, generous to a fault I hear..

Share price will move higher next week along with the market as a whole. Could well see £60 by end of next week. Got to be in it to win it no point watching from the sidelines as the share price goes up and up.

The Joe Biden Infrastructure announcement apparently provided impetus and was welcome, but there is plenty of time for the 'bipartisan group of lawmakers' to exert their power and disrupt the market. I would expect AHT to be quite volatile going forward, particularly as we are now breaking new ground.

Having sold down over time, I now find that my residual AHT holding has assumed a far greater percentage of my portfolio than planned, but I am content to hold on for the present :-)

Did you manage to close your shorts without too much damage?

I wasn't quite expecting todays opening!

Yesterday was a similar size rise on volume of 647,000. The daily average volume is 1.136 Million. I will not be surprised if the volume today is a similar amount to yesterday's

URI P/E 25.00

I almost forgot....there is a gap back to 5300. What chance it will be filled?

Following the recent correction the share price has risen back above the lower trendline aiming for another shot at 5300. I have drawn an ascending triangle (purple lines) but the share price is not compliant. The upper line is correct but the breaches of the lower line weaken the probability of the pattern and suggest the lower line will fail and more correction.

BUT! we know AHT likes to surprise by putting in a large candle to gap over resistance.

On second thoughts I think it is better to consider the price action as a horizontal channel with the upper purple line as the top and the black line at 4966 as the lower line.

Thanks for posting your views, lots to worry about if you are minded, but in the meantime the market continues to climb the 'wall of worry' and AHT seems to be reverting to the 'norm' edging closer to what I had termed a rising channel - may not strictly meet TA criteria but it works for me. :-)

Reading the opinions of US luminaries, talking heads, hedge managers, et al there is no shortage of various opinions. Inflation, deflation, stagnation, stagflation, end of cycle, mid cycle, start of cycle and so on. They will point to data that supports their own view. Lies, damned lies and data.

There is an opinion gathering pace that suggests the FED will be unable to taper or heaven forbid increase rates. If they do try the market will have an enormous tantrum forcing the FED to cease or even reverse.

We live in interesting times.

I will continue to wear my tinfoil cap until the dust has settled.

Good to hear from you, it was beginning to feel quite lonely ..

I fear my earlier post will draw a response, and I am expecting fenners to reappear, once he has finished his fight to the death on buybacks on another thread, although I am surprised he hasn't quoted AHT's last buyback as a successful example - that should get the AHT thread moving!!!

In the meantime, I am thinking that after we get past the minor ripples and waves of current market activity, the tide will be seen to be with us longer term.

Another solid day for AHT, albeit on modest volume, but still a bit to go to regain the upward rising channel I was following 'till recently.

Gone very quiet here these last few days, and we are missing those irritating posts of 'got to be in it to win it' reminiscent of Del Boys 'this time next year we'll be millionaires' type of 'whistling in the dark' ramping posts..

I do hope poster 'trt' has not copped an unfortunate one as Del would say...
