18/12/2019 21:52 | "Sell order" Bracke or you will be in for more at a much higher price.... | fenners66
18/12/2019 17:24 | perfido I am out tomorrow morning hence the buy order. If it fails to fill the gap before Christmas so be it. We will hold into the New Year. | bracke
18/12/2019 17:06 | bracke I think we will all be relieved when Mater exits at a appreciable profit, 2440 is not unreasonable for a short term punt imho. Me, I am looking to hold my recent buy for a bit longer, along with my core holding, mindful as you say that there may be some dips along the way. Good luck and seasons greetings to Mater :-) | perfido
18/12/2019 16:44 | Good afternoon 2flat Discretion being the better part of valour. Plus a bird in the etc. The markets have had a good run and with OPEX on Friday I'm not convinced it will continue much longer before profit taking comes into play. If it does continue up beyond the gap fill it may be an opportunity for a 'you know what'. | bracke
18/12/2019 16:23 | Afternoon bracke. Just noticed 2440!!with Santa and fenners watching. Some people have no ambition. Cheers | 2flatpack
18/12/2019 16:16 | Afternoon All I see Ferguson have appointed an interim CEO, had to check it out.To see if Geoff had decided to go back working full time, but it was a guy called Simon eer. no class. Cheers | 2flatpack
18/12/2019 14:08 | Mater & I still holding. Was hoping the US may fill the gap this afternoon. Hope we are not being overly greedy. EDIT I have placed sell orders at 2440. | bracke
18/12/2019 13:09 | Lol! Trump - lets see how it plays out Meanwhile is mater still keeping the faith? Must be tempting to take a profit.. (No advice intended) | perfido
18/12/2019 12:47 | "Either tongue firmly in cheek, or the boy's tripping - I'm not sure which?" ==================== Probably both. I'm probably still under the influence of brandy in the plum crumble I had last night. Tooth Fairy and Santa Claus do excellent work. A very charitable pair. I'm sure fenners would be in full agreement with my second option ie. new Director buys a shed load of shares. They may impeach him but he will not be convicted. The danger for the Republicans is that it may rebound on them. One can well imagine how Mr Trump will use his acquittal. | bracke
18/12/2019 12:12 | bracke Re: I think the share buyback should increase to lift the share price and fill the gap ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Either tongue firmly in cheek, or the boy's tripping - I'm not sure which? Might as well tell us what your position is on the Tooth Fairy, and Santa Claus at the same time so we can be sure? :-) In the meantime I hate to think what fenners is going to say! Nice to see the current AHT rise, (+37p to 2405p) possibly influenced by the fall back of the £/$ rate, and I notice that Trump is getting closer to impeachment, although as we both know, this does not in itself remove the official definitively from office; it is similar to an indictment in criminal law. Rock on! | perfido
18/12/2019 10:28 | Good day perfido I certainly don't think of AHT as a speculative share. Yes the gap at On 27 November it closed at 2444 and gaped down the next day. It has not been back to 2444 since then. Having broken above 2400 I think the share buyback should increase to lift the share price and fill the gap. It would be a nice Christmas gesture from the board. Mater and I would be very pleased. If the Board are not prepared to increase the share buyback perhaps the new Director could be persuaded to make a share purchase that would achieve the desired result. | bracke
18/12/2019 09:37 | Bracke 'Yes Mater is relatively satisfied but wants to know why I did not sell at 2400.' ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Looks like Mater is getting another bite of the cherry, currently 2415p... | perfido
17/12/2019 17:57 | bracke, OK not so rash then, perhaps speculative? :-) Would that be the gap from the intra-day high of 2460 on 27th Nov that you have in mind? | perfido
17/12/2019 17:38 | perfido The US markets continue to rise not so much on results as masses of cheap money. There appears no limit to the amount of money the FED are prepared to throw at the market. Bearing that in mind I was rather hoping AHT might make an attempt at filling the gap. Perhaps later this week? Not a rash gamble. Mater expects good fast results. So far this year I've kept her happy (relatively). I do hope AHT are not going to let me down. | bracke
17/12/2019 17:25 | bracke Not surprisingly, after the recent rises over the last week, (10/12 2220p to 16/12 2385p) AHT seems to have taken a breather today to consolidate gains and finished off its lows at 2368p -0.7% -17p on the day. Probably not a good idea to worry Mater about your rather rash gamble on AHT at this juncture, given the circumstances you mention? | perfido
17/12/2019 12:11 | perfido Whilst you did not use the word 'advice' it was implied in your posts, this would be a matter for the courts should it come to it. "that this is a once in a lifetime opportunity, it's just a question of a bit of patience and whose lifetime." ==================== You have hit the crux of the matter. Mater would undoubtedly inform you that being of aged years, patience and lifetime are in short supply. She would express the situation more forcefully than I so best I do not subject you to her less than cordial retorts. | bracke
17/12/2019 11:58 | Good day bracke I don't recall giving any such advice, but if you let me have Mater's phone number I'll give her a call and reassure her that this is a once in a lifetime opportunity, it's just a question of a bit of patience and whose lifetime... | perfido
17/12/2019 10:45 | Good day perfido Yes Mater is relatively satisfied but wants to know why I did not sell at 2400. I replied that I had been informed by a fellow poster by the name of perfido that there was more to be had. Mater is somewhat sceptical and has threatened all sorts so you may want to line up a legal representative just in case. | bracke
16/12/2019 20:27 | bracke, Lol! Not a bad day for AHT, Momma B must be pleased? | perfido
16/12/2019 18:06 | Good day perfido A parrot good with figures. | bracke
16/12/2019 17:37 | Good evening bracke Thanks for your amusing post 57488, I learned a new word today - 'polymath'! | perfido
16/12/2019 16:52 | It's also OPEX on Friday plus FED pumping plus FOMO. There's only one way for it to go.....for now. | bracke
16/12/2019 14:07 | Looks like the traditional seasonal rally has started, Santa has left it a bit late this year! . | perfido
16/12/2019 10:51 | Do we now prepare ourselves for Son Or Daughter Of Corby? May I suggest that doyenne of the down trodden, scourge of the over privileged, crusader for humanity, not to mention polymath. The one, the only DIANE ABBOTT...... I did say not to mention polymath. | bracke |
