Neither Todd nor Collins Youldon, as I mentioned earlier - both profitable acquisitions - have made 12 month contributions (the latter nil).
Fair point about tax and pension but tax only 45k last time so not going to be a major factor, unless they make mega bucks, in which case in one sense the more the merrier.
No worries re the 2 million atall, whihc I mentioned initially as taking a cautious view to bear in mind, that will only be paid if Todd meet targets, and if they do meet targets that is very Good news for eps.

I like the illiquidity, (though I accept some are scared by it, whatever the company but I've held or hold shares in far more illiquid companies such as TOL, TNCI and GSC) decent institutional holders who aren't selling at this level can only mean one thing , more to come. I managed to get 10k shares at lower levels, without too much grief and I am in for the long term.

I have always said I think the digital look target too optimistic, but if they even make 10p this year, I'd be very happy at this share price (Collins still won't make a 12 month contribution this year) and they mentioned a record order book earlier this year.

I would like to think maybe next year they will make one more acquisition though I admit I don't know what that would be.

No company be it BP or ASF has everything rosy in their garden but I can't think of any 5 million market cap company with so many positives as ASF. But Ydderf or anyone, if you know of any others do let us know, without deflecting the thread overly from ASF!

1. abnormal tax rate (12.6%) of profits flatters eps - true p/e is high not low - forward est eps is from one broker (co's own broker!)
2. curtailment gain on pension fund is a one off but comprises 30% of last profits, i.e 72% of the profits increase!
3. There is a potential further £2,080,000 of contingent
consideration for Todd - where is it coming from?
4. of 4.97m shares, 75.7% are in firm hands, i.e you can't buy meaningful amounts if it prospers, nor get out if it doesn't

Well this one has hit my radar and it looks interesting. But I am concerned if the company cannot put out accurate RNS.

The graph also seems to feature some spikes in both directions - thinly traded? Needs some further research but anyone care to comment

It's great that the market is getting interested at last. Thereis still a LONG way to go though before we are fairly valued. AT LEAST 200p per share in the short term (prospective p/e would be 10) and 300p within a year hopefully as a p/e of 15 would be more than fair for this kind of growth.

Nothing in IC today but Shares Magazine had a mention of the sale and leaseback deal, commenting that it could be a smart move. Possibly a mention in the weekend press is in the offing - the supplements go to press on Wednesdays and they sometimes leak.

One thing you got badly wrong egoi - that comment on it not spiking sharply upwards. I came in on 18th Sept and its 'spiked' 25% in that time. I love that kind of error. lol. :-) Tom

Think we are reaching the point people not yet in (or fully in) have to bite the bullet at the higher level if they are serious about being a part of this! Still I have a 2-3 year target of 250-300p and if they get anywhere near the digital look numbers why not; with full 12 month contributions still to be felt from 2 profitable acquisitions!
So for proper long termers I believe there is plenty to go for. I wonder if there was a tip anywhere today (it is IC day).

Anyway what I came on to say:
The new Todd website is up and running.

One story of potential interest on there:

The UK government is looking at proposals discussed at a conference on protecting passengers from terrorism, to install airport-style X-ray scanners at some train stations. X-ray machines and scanner trials begin in 2006 on Heathrow Express platforms, beginning at Paddington station in London. The equipment will also be trialled on the London Underground network, according to the Department of Transport.

However, the transport secretary has claimed that airport-style security is not possible at UK train stations because of the sheer size of the rail network. The London Mayor is thought to consider plans impractical due to the limited size of some stations and the huge number of passengers in the capital.

A Home Affairs correspondent for a TV company said that one of the key issues at the conference is whether there are any effective ways of screening passengers which do not cause too much disruption.

cost of the leaseback should also have been included in rns

Yes, the chart suggests to me a possible pull-back, perhaps into the high 90's, so we may get another chance.

thanks for that NTV, the small profit will just pay for associated costs then. No boost to headline eps. If they only need part of the building, then it makes sense. Are you onboard yet?

re valued in oct 05 at £1.25m
depends how they show account for the aquisition in the accounts as to whether they book a profit
property is now not freehold and will depend on much the lease back is costing whether it is a good deal or not
i guess they look at it in way that it raises cash for the company which could be ued for expansion
i guess it certainly pays down debt at the very least
come on ASF lets have more imfo please
if i get time i'll find out more detail

true.... however, it sounds like a sound move and I wonder what the book value was... hopefully made a tidy profit on it

todays rns is incorrect and the company should be made to correct it
the consideration for todd was not £1.65m, that was ONLY the INITIAL CONSIDERATION and should be CLEARLY stated on the rns
it makes it sound as though it virtually paid for it on the sale and lease back

Given all the cheap shares were cleaned out a while ago that 25k today looks intriguing.
I half wonder, given it has been virtually all buys for aabout a month now if the mms have had to go cap in hand to the company to ask for some to aid liquidity. Seen it before with stocks of this sort. if that turns out to be the case, very good news for those of us already in.

Picked up another 3000 Asfare at 103p, placed an order this morning not being shown yet, instead they focus on the 2000 sell at 99p (presumably to fill my order). Suspect they're short of stock and hoping to pick up some sells by lowering price.
Hope mm's get burnt :)

edit sorry was at 102p, i got better than my limit price.

Equalling 12 month high, 'seller' must be a big one, lol! Probably explains why someone had to pay 5p above quote for 7,000 shares yesterday too. -:)

NTV, get back to the oil stocks....
I think the seller was cleared a few weeks back, there was surplus stock at 80-85p, when it was easy to pick up at 83.5. Still very much a bargain though

NTV what gives you that idea, not been any sign for long time of a 'big seller' and I suspect your post is down more to wishful thinking, or an 'I'm missing the boat' post.
I think you will find healthy competition if your imaginary seller appears, to buy on a dip. I know for sure of several posters on other boards accumulating.

Looks like it might be off again today.

NTV,not sure it's a good idea to hang around waiting for your big seller...
