24/7/2006 22:28 | I have to agree with Den.........Arla`s need to sell has been greater than Dairy Crests need to buy........hence a lower price than the market anticipated.. Looks like Arla have made the sale now because it may have been unsaleable at a higher price at some future date.............Dai Anyway this is a done deal and from Arlas perspective all that matters now is to move on to the next stage of their development .....which is surely the Amba bid My money is still on 70p minimum since the only leverage Amba have is to underperform and make the funds sweat over an investment they could deploy more profitably elswhere.........If this means a premium needs to be paid then so what ...Amba are aiming for a european wide business model and the Uk is an integral part of it | gerry321
24/7/2006 16:46 | Been out of circulation and only just seen the announcement , I've not digested it yet but my initial thoughts are ARU have let it go to cheap or at least the city think so , I would have expected the reverse of whats happened with both companies share price today , when you consider ARU will tidy up the balance sheet and Arla Amba WILL bid, and Dairy Crest have aquired a sector of the dairy business with a 12% volume decline and all the liabilities that go with it. jrcn No idea we were talking 75/85p a couple of monthe ago but that would seem unrealistic now when you see were it's been deliberatly ( imo ) taken since. Cheers | deniscaff
24/7/2006 12:59 | I expected this announcement last Monday ..... wonder what dairies Dairy Crest will close now? | markle
24/7/2006 12:50 | Interesting contrast between the Arla and Dairy Crest announcements....... One could be tempted to think that thst the last thing Arla wanted with this announcement is an upward surge in the share price .........but then Amba are lurking in the wings....... If a bid does go ahead I suspect it will be in th Autumn after the dust has settled..... The key signal ought to be Funds topping up existing holdings... | gerry321
24/7/2006 11:18 | so aru is selling express dairies to dairy crest, looks as tho you could be right deniscaff. what do you think amba will offer for arla uk ? | jrcn
19/7/2006 08:55 | Thanks Den........hope yore theory is correct and an amba bid isnt too far off...... | gerry321
18/7/2006 19:05 | Gerry. The Eupopean model does not include glass bottling dairies or a network of small high cost depots distributing low volume drops to households and small retailers. The european model for liquid milk is large efficeint dairies processing high volume low cost one trip containers delivered in volume directly to store or distributor, for the added value sctor they produce market and export leading brands of butter, hard and soft cheese, desserts and flavoured milks ect, any remaining imbalance of milk produced by their co-op members is processed into milk powder for the commodity market. Cheers | deniscaff
18/7/2006 12:02 | den glass for cash..I like it ! seriously What does the amba european model look like?? | gerry321
17/7/2006 20:23 | markle. That would be the the deal we have been waiting for, if Dairy Crest aquired the glass daries they would have to aquire the depots with the doorstep and middle ground business one without the other would be useless. I have have been posting for a long time that Arla Amba would not make a bid until Arla Foods u.k. sold or rationalized the doorstep ( glass ) and the middle ground sectors as it does not fit with their european co-op model. Selling the glass for cash and reducing or wiping out the debt ( depending on the amount ) will leave the business model that suits Arla Amba and a very healthy balance sheet , I just hope the institutions don't let it go to cheaply !! All just my opinion of course I have no inside information. Cheers | deniscaff
15/7/2006 22:04 | rumour is that Dairy Crest to bid for the two Arla glass bottling sites, Liverpool and Nottingham.Wether is a cash deal or swap is another matter. Maybe Monday we will find out. | markle
15/7/2006 21:59 | hvs ....youre spot on topped up yet again at 46p.....what a steal.... apotential buy by amba at probably not less than 70p...... Only downside........rece | gerry321
13/7/2006 12:21 | surely amba are buying up all they can get thru nominees at this sp? If not the long suffering farmers ought to be piling in as it is surely a lower price than they will be offered when amba eventually turn the business into a coop | gerry321
13/7/2006 11:51 | In with 50K @ 47.5p Will add on further weakness. Its a steal at these levels. | hvs
13/7/2006 08:55 | If Arla Amba don't try to steal the other 49% at this share price they never will, imo | deniscaff
12/7/2006 17:13 | Can buy them now at 49.25p, in my opinion good for a 20% rise over the coming weeks, seems to be the bottom end of the trading range. | tiredoldbroker

11/7/2006 14:13 | I hear Dairy Crest pulled out of rationalization of Doorstp/Middle Ground sectors, talks ongoing , Arla Amba will bid when it's sorted !!, | deniscaff
11/7/2006 12:20 | 50p? maybe support this price. | milton8
10/7/2006 14:45 | ANYBODY ANY NEWS ON THIS SHARE ??? | jrcn
22/6/2006 13:11 | Brokers fishing, share price been dropping for a week on little or no volume , trying to tempt the big one !! | deniscaff
21/6/2006 19:54 | So, the brokers are now downgrading this stock, ripening up for an amba bid ?????? | jrcn
18/6/2006 10:51 | I can see increasing popularity of Cravendale milk. Their Vanill flavoured milk is also nice. No effect on share price. | rajyogi
06/6/2006 15:30 | Does anybody know when the next Amba results statement is due..? | gerry321
30/5/2006 18:55 | Fully agree. Something is clearly afoot. In recent times, Arla Foods has been hit very hard when the overall market takes a bath. So, Arla Food's 7% rise to-day against a bleak market is absolutely startling. Let's hope that our patiently awaited and anticipated move by Arla amba is about to happen - or , as you say, some other major corporate announcement. | quepassa
30/5/2006 17:13 | ARU share price up over 7% as the rest of the market takes a hammering ? maybe an announcement is on the way !! AMBA aquisition or the disposal of the doorstep sector, Dairy Crest down 7% could they be buying it ? | deniscaff |
