I am interested. Anyone know why?
Has risen recently and further up today. Anybody else interested in this?
> new contract see RNS today - any opinion on its significance?? Didn't see it on RNS, but their Web site looks quite nice now, and usable in terms of finding who their licensees and designs are. The deal itself looks interesting.
I think the words "high volume" is all I wanted to see. Glad to see we're up again.

Why the sudden signs of life in the share price? Did something happen that I missed?
This looks fairly optimistic. Pity Im out now.
OMG is worth checking out...owners of subsidiary Vicon Systems, manufacturers of the worlds first 4million pixel motion capture technology, used in Spiderman 2, Thunderbirds etc. End of year 30/9. Will probably drift a few pence lower before then if you want to buy in at a good price. Looking very bullish. DYOR Thread.... Recent Interim statement available on company website..... Major player at this years Siggraph trade show...
Hi Huge Nice to come across you again. And about time these started to move.

More good news: Meyer and Jaros share industry experience Derek Meyer and Andrew Jaros have joined ARC International as Vice President of Marketing and Vice President of North American sales, respectively. The two semiconductor-industry veterans will provide valuable knowledge and insight as ARC continues to establish its leadership position and expand its extendible processor-core products and services. Derek Meyer joins ARC with 20 years of semiconductor, embedded systems and software experience including over 10 years in Semiconductor IP. He was most recently VP of Business Development and Strategy at Ceva and prior to that spent 6 years at MIPS Technologies, first as VP of Marketing and Sales and later VP of Field Operations. "I believe configurable processors will be at the core of the most interesting new SoC designs, and ARC's innovative technology will be the foundation for many of these exciting new products", said Meyer. Andy Jaros has over 15 years of experience in the semiconductor industry. Prior to joining ARC, he was the Director of Strategic Partner Sales for ARM Ltd., for the last two years out of more than his six years tenure at ARM. Before his key revenue-generating roles at ARM, Jaros worked at Motorola in Sales. Jaros has also held the position of President and GM of JN Blair and Co, a closely held distribution business outside the semiconductor industry. "Both Andy and Derek represent some exciting changes in the ARC management team", said Carl Schlachte, ARC CEO. "Their strength and experience in the semiconductor IP industry will play a significant role in expanding ARC's market position".
yes better than I expected.
More progress: ARC INTERNATIONAL PLC RESULTS FOR THE SIX MONTHS ENDED 30 JUNE 2004 ARC International plc (LSE: ARK), a world leader in configurable processor cores and application platforms for digital media, consumer and communications devices announces its unaudited financial results for the six months ended 30 June 2004. Highlights: -- Turnover £6.2 million ($11.3 million) from £5.3million ($8.5 million) in 1H 2003, up 18% in sterling and 33% in dollars. -- Operating costs before exceptionals, amortisation and depreciation £10.3 million: reduced by 26% over 1H'03 (1H 2003: £14.0 million) -- Pre-exceptional net loss £4.1 million: improved 59% over 1H 2003 (1H 2003: £10.0 million) -- Net loss including exceptionals £3.3 million, improved 66% over 1H 2003 (1H 2003: £9.7 million) -- Operating cash outflow £5.2 million: reduced 45% year over year (1H 2003: £9.5 million); year end cash at £36.2 million -- 11 new processor licenses signed, including 5 new licenses for the ARC 600(TM) core -- Strengthened top management team with 3 new appointments -- Completed sale of peripherals business to TransDimension, Inc. for £3.6 million resulting in a provisional net gain of £1.9 million and initial cash proceeds of £2.5 million in this period Commenting on the results, Carl Schlachte, President and CEO, said: "We are encouraged by several significant improvements in ARC's business in the first half of 2004. Our processor license revenue improved with the addition of 11 new licenses, including 5 for the ARC 600 processor core. Additionally, we had record royalties and shipments of products based on ARC processors. We have sold our USB business, which reduces our stated restructuring charge and contributes to working capital. Our turnover is up, costs and headcount are down and our pre-exceptional net loss has reduced by 59%, year-on-year. In the second half, our focus will be on completing our restructuring plan and adding new partners and licensees for our recent product offerings." ... Outlook We are encouraged by the results we achieved in the first half of the year. Our processor business grew both in new licenses and in royalties from products shipping for previous license sales. The sale of the USB business will allow the company to fund working capital from the sale rather than the current cash balance. Cost reductions are on track, and when combined with the revenue growth achieved, enabled measurable progress in closing the gap towards profitability. In the second half, our focus will be on completing our restructuring plan and adding new partners and licensees for our recent product offerings.

Decent volume again and price trending upwards albeit very slowly.
Express Logic ThreadX® RTOS support extended to ARC™ 600 and ARC™ 700 Looks like a good sign that the third party providers are starting to support ARC's new processors. We had Greenhills some time ago, and now Express Logic. Hopefully this trend will continue.
The sale is positive as the company cut the loss making operation and concentrate on the higher margin business in the growth area. I'll be waiting to see the result and the evidence that the company has build up momentum of winning more market share before buying. The new management appears to make the right moves.
Well there is now 3p per share extra cash (3.6M + 0.9M = 4.5M) and losses/cash burn have been reduced.

I guess this will explain the huge 0.5p rise yesterday. from ======================================================================= PRESS RELEASE - June 23 2004 Digeo™ Expands ARC License to include new ARC™600 RISC/DSP For Its Next Generation Set Top Boxes Current ARC multi-processor licensee renews commitment to ARC core SAN JOSE, Calif., June 23, 2004 – ARC International (LSE: ARK), a world leader in user-customizable RISC/DSP processors and application platforms for digital media, wireless and networking communications, today announced that Digeo, Inc., a leading provider of media center software and services, has licensed the ARC 600 RISC/DSP core, MetaWareÔ development tools, MP-3 and AC-3 audio technology for use in its X-Stream™ media center chipset. Digeo's X-Stream Chipset features the industry's highest level of integration and dramatically cuts cost for Moxi and other media center devices. The chipset combines the functions of over two dozen chips, resulting in power and space savings as well as increased reliability. The innovative X-Stream includes new features such as high definition user interface, increased processing and graphics performance and up to four tuner digital video recording capability. As an ARC licensee since 2002, Digeo has already incorporated four ARCtangent™-A5 processors into its current generation of X-Stream chipsets. The ARC 600 processor will initially be used as a part of the audio system and perform the processing required for MP-3 and AC-3 decode. Future chipset generations will migrate to a full ARC 600 platform. "While searching for a processor to power our next-generation chipset, we had strict requirements for a high-performance audio solution but also knew that sophisticated development tools and solid support were vital to our continued design success. As a long-time ARC customer we have been extremely pleased with their integrated audio solutions and tools in addition to their great customer support. Upgrading to the ARC 600 was a natural choice," said Toby Farrand Digeo's Chief Technology Officer. "Digeo is an excellent example of how our customers' products have become increasingly feature-rich by taking advantage of our multi-media capabilities. Because the ARC 600 audio platform has class-leading performance and small area footprint, we are able to provide our customers with a solution that enables them to take highly competitive products to the market faster and, with less development effort than is required using conventional methods." said David Fritz, ARC marketing vice-president. ARC 600 The ARC 600 RISC/DSP delivers similar performance to leading scalar fixed-point general purpose DSPs in a fraction of the area. By combining RISC and DSP functions within a single core, the ARC 600 can replace a dual processor system while dramatically reducing area and power. An added benefit is that software development for both RISC and DSP configurations can be done with one tool chain, enabling faster software development and requiring only one development community. The ARC 600 with DSP also offers an optional high bandwidth XY memory option to target higher performance applications. The DSP extensions fully utilize the ARC 600 32-bit architecture and SIMD instructions to aid in accelerating functions such as Viterbi and FFT. The ARC 600 processor can encode 2 channels of stereo AC-3 Dolby Digital and decode 1 channel of 5.1 AC-3 Dolby Digital audio simultaneously on a single processor, making it the most efficient audio solutions in its class.
