06/2/2004 12:57 | Judging by lack of posts even this morning's action has not captured the interest of the 'herd', plenty more upside to come when the word spreads IMHO. C'mon Bonnier, have some! | nur0mancer
06/2/2004 11:03 | 1M trade @ 22 from when the spread was 22 on the Bid, yet one of the MM's moved up around that time (the last MM move) - price suggests a Sell but MM action, amidst profit-taking, suggests otherwise. Will be watching for RNS of stakebuilding. | nur0mancer
06/2/2004 09:32 | I've held onto these laggards suspecting that there has been a major shack out at oversold levels allowing a management buyout or else at these levels this might look like an attractive takeover taking a longer tern view of eventual potential.. only imho from days when 35p buyout was rumoured. | errol0001
06/2/2004 09:17 | Is someone buying big behind the scene, selling but price goes up. | eastbourne1982
06/2/2004 09:15 | no hippy hippy shake on the offer | empirestate
06/2/2004 09:13 | waiting for the 'shake' to add | nur0mancer
06/2/2004 09:13 | Perhaps Eurovestech are buying again this morning? They may be happy to keep buying up to, say the net cash value of approx 25p. | hugepants
06/2/2004 09:12 | These people selling, don't they see the MM's are buying, if ever I see a sign not sell it is when MM's are buying a fair few. Anyway sells have been absorbed pretty easily. | eastbourne1982
06/2/2004 09:10 | tried to get more early but they were only allowing 5k shares at almost full offer, looking like a delayed reaction to the first +ve noises to come out of ARK in a long time. Intending to hang in for the long haul this time, using any weakness to add. Could well see an AHT-type momentum build, will be watching for evidence of activist investor activity - remember the TIG situation via GNI/ICE-SAS/Bonnier. | nur0mancer
06/2/2004 09:04 | I topped up on Wednesday to 250K which looks to have been perfect timing. BTW Eurovestech increased their holding yesterday. The RNS was out very late. | hugepants
06/2/2004 08:58 | looking good me old chums , looks like 25p on the cards for next week L2 update 2/4 | empirestate
06/2/2004 08:58 | this should hint at MM position - via comdirect online Buy NMS is only 5000 versus 150,000 online Sell NMS. MM Buys all over da place | nur0mancer
06/2/2004 08:56 | Just bought in guys, looks as though this could be about to go quite fast, two MM buys now - good luck. | eastbourne1982
06/2/2004 08:47 | I modified some of my calcs in the header post. Any comments? Do the numbers look broadly feasible? | hugepants
06/2/2004 08:39 | WOW, they must have heard me lol | nur0mancer
06/2/2004 08:20 | nice to see the MM's being so ultra-competitive | nur0mancer
05/2/2004 22:13 | Thanks I know for a fact one small tech fund is looking at this one. | dag121468
05/2/2004 21:57 | here ya go dag, today's Tempus column: 'Arc International ARC International, the computer chip designer, has a market capitalisation of £27 million. Yet it has cash in the bank of £37 million. This imbalance is not as odd as it may seem at first. Nor does it suggest that shares in the company - which were worth 429p at the end of 2000 - are necessarily undervalued at yesterday's closing price of 18¼p. After all, the company is losing money, as yesterday's full-year results showed in graphic fashion. If it continues to lose money, it will burn through the £37 million before it can demonstrate that it has any capital value, let alone anything approaching £27 million. There are a good handful of straws blowing in the wind that bode well for Arc, however. The first is that the demand for microchips is swinging strongly upwards. Confidence among a range of technology companies is building and new gadgets - such as the the iPod music playing device - are catching consumers' imaginations. As importantly, Arc is in the process of shifting its business model. Its days as a chip designer in the ARM mould are passing. Instead, it has its eyes fixed on becoming more of a design consultancy, developing specific solutions to specific demands, by drawing together ideas from fellow-travelling rivals. Arc also has a relatively new chairman and is about to appoint a new chief executive. In addition, it is embarking on a cost-cutting programme that could see the company break even by the end of this year. Arc shares are no more than a high risk punt. But buy.' | nur0mancer
05/2/2004 21:41 | Ive been watching Arc for ages and bought in after results There is no risk now that I can see, Im looking for 40p to exit Can someone post the Times tip | dag121468
05/2/2004 20:24 | hi huge just looking honest.... Regards sp | spurious
05/2/2004 16:25 | Hi Jim, Yes the cash rich stocks have been consistent winners for me the last few years. And Im sure you know this was tipped as a buy in the Times today | hugepants
05/2/2004 16:07 | Good afternoon Hugepants and why am I not surprised you have bought some Arc shares -- I think there is a common denominator with your share picks. PS. Ive held for more than 6 months. | jim_black |
