13/8/2022 17:48 | re. ozaltin, sangster had these words: "underwrite development and provides an ability to move things forward in the echelons of power" (5 mins in) so, we will see the value that ozaltin brings when the multitude of things pertaining to mining projects need to be pushed through the inevitable govt bureacracy and also the funding rounds should be easier with an indigenous heavyweight on board. how will we know how well they are doing? unlikely to ever find out. though one rough yardstick could be salinbas getting to production in 2025, the current stated target. imo that's far too optimistic, too many steps still to go, but if we find that the permits and other red tape and financing are not taking exceedingly long lead times then perhaps we would see the value ozaltin brings. pity they seemingly cannot do anything for tavsan which appears to be in a financing 'black hole' for the last several months. | konil
13/8/2022 17:37 | Plas - I like Sangster's style but feel that the technicals need polishing. It's always good to start off with a bit of humour and he does this very well. However there were some clicks, thumps and bangs coming from the lectern during the presentation whose origins I couldn't quite pin down but they began to annoy me after a while. I think a presentation is an important communication tool and should be done right. Chris did well but there's room for improvement. He should try and work on the technicals for next time. | charles clore
13/8/2022 17:04 | thank you. | konil

13/8/2022 11:42 | where is the sangster presentation? (sorry i dont do twitter) | konil
13/8/2022 10:29 | Yep him and MDV spent three days solid on that to get the message out in a slightly more strategic format and both need credit. | bigglesbingham
13/8/2022 10:25 | Really good presentation from Mr Sangster!! | shortarm
13/8/2022 08:45 | Are AAU/Venus looking into this? Codelco is using artificial intelligence to squeeze out more copper from its aging Chilean mines. The company introduced a digital data center in 2020 that uses machine learning. The platform is adding about 8,000 metric tons at its century-old Chuquicamata mine, or $80 million in annual profit. | thanksamillion
12/8/2022 20:58 | Has anyone managed to secure the AGM actual voting numbers please? | plasybryn
12/8/2022 19:52 | Spot on Charles | plasybryn
12/8/2022 19:23 | CC - But I agree with them though, and their strategy has always been quite clear afaics for some time. I care not for brokers, a pointless waste of space the whole bally lot of them, so that issue doesn't interest me. | bo doodak
12/8/2022 19:16 | Bo - I think you have hit the nail on the head. It's the i troduction of certain changes that some of us original investors don't like. For example we used to be able to email kerim with our questions and get a reply. Now it seems he doesn't have time for such things and neither do any of his bod or senior managers. You could always check progress against stated objectives by referring to the gantt chart and if it didn't make sense never mind, we had quarterly reports that explained what we didn't know. Now the gantt charts are no more and the reports are 6-monthly. | charles clore
12/8/2022 18:48 | Having just listened to the AGM and questions MDV and KS don't know what all the complaining is about. If you are too old to wait, or too impatient, buy another stock better suited to your own timescales | bo doodak

12/8/2022 17:15 | Charles: Sent you a message re: the Chris Sangster presentation on 13th June. | plasybryn
12/8/2022 17:08 | At the AGM the Chairman was telling me they had shown Slide 7 before - "Growth through diversification". He was trying to tell me it indicated a future path but as far as I'm aware this was the first time we have seen it, certainly with the line running through it and the upward arrow, but also as the end point shown is the present, it hardly provides much tangible forward guidance as far as I can see. Does anyone have a view on this? | plasybryn
12/8/2022 17:04 | And protection in this difficult time and exploration leopald | bigglesbingham
12/8/2022 16:41 | I think keeping it in the bank is the pet project konil. | soulsauce
12/8/2022 16:30 | its going to be a long wait for substantive organic growth, i'd like to see a portion of the income as divis meanwhile. they have the jv funds sitting in the bank for ks's pet projects. | konil
12/8/2022 16:22 | Yes to me dividends is ok to a limited extent but you can use money for a lot more in this climate | bigglesbingham
12/8/2022 15:00 | They spent just 3M to get half of Venus which very soon (hehe) will be a profitable copper mine.... I cannot imagine Kerim announcing what they're looking at in a presentation but they know many many people at all levels of companies! Also I would imagine a lot of small companies are approaching us for funding - and we have lots of funding :-) | shortarm
12/8/2022 13:26 | dividends. kizil production 25,000oz. gold say $1750 conservatively. aisc $650 profit $27.5m aau profit share $6.46m = £5.3m with 1.1bn shares that is 0.48p/shr. aau have a cash pile sitting around. ok dont use that to pay divis, not a good use of those funds. but why not institute a dividend based on income of 0.48p/shr. they could start with say 0.19p/shr, a 40% payout. with share price at 3.5p that is a 5.4% divi. not too shabby. and they would still be retaining 60% of income for g&a and any surplus to reserves. if they deliver tavsan in 12 months those numbers would double but if they were concerned about kizil tailing off in 2025/2026 they could conservatively still payout around the same amount, boosting reserves while kizil continued to produce in tandem with tavsan. it could start with a payment in march 2023 of 0.095p/shr and in sep 2023 0.095p/shr. this would pick up nicely where the tranched special divi tails off with final payment oct 2022. why are they stalling? why are they not even talking about it? | konil
12/8/2022 13:14 | Exactly Charles why aren't they doing that, like it's a big secret and so hard to fathom. But I believe it all lands at the door of Kerim, how he likes to run the company and why he is happy with the sludge that PG turn out. It's nothing new this but it's wrong on so many levels. Like Plasybryn says he needs to accept it's a listed company and not his baby. Agree 8rad. | soulsauce |
