As my post suggested last night there is a lot to update the market on. Don't mind steady as she goes as debt reduces to zero. Also July -sept should be a record cash quarter with gold being over $1400 for majority of it.

Knowing the company as I do, it seems unlikely the directors would put themselves on the firing line and then have nothing of importance to say. I think we could be very pleasantly surprised.

Indeed they do GS and may be they are finally realising that.

Hope so dixi.

I notice it is yellow jersey again and not our brilliant broker.

Sounds like AAU want to communicate more directly with shareholders. That ought to be seen as a positive development. Let's hope that there are plenty of positives to communicate.

That could mean anything the company has been doing or will be doing.

The 'corporate update' could say production is on target for example.

These guys need to break the sleep cycle - yawn....

But it does say 'corporate update' not just discussions results.

To be fair, the house broker may have been asleep at the time!

Shanta have a call every quarter and I have listened in the last couple of years. Nothing too dramatic so I wouldn't get your hopes up too much. The last quarterly there were no questions at all, even from the house broker!

Dividend policy announced? Buybacks? They can't get permits fast enough to spend all the money they're making on drilling!!!Maybe they'll buy something?

Michael in the chair as well. Let's hope there are some great questions.I wonder if this will entice Analysts to call in. Anyway I applaud them for doing this and putting themselves on the spot. Perhaps they have chosen now as the story is so positive on all fronts.

In fairness, I don't know what figure you are all looking at but the often it seems that the figure quoted as the share price depends on whether the last deal was a buy or a sell. Therefore it can be quite misleading when the B/O spread is as large as AAUs

Yep the debt elimination between now and April will result in a steady increase in shareprice to around 3-3.5 p and obviously this could be accelerated by positive results regarding tarsvan, kizilckuk salinbas positive drilling results , etc . Obviously negative left field rnss could go other way but way this is maintaining 2p+ for some time now give me a good feeling.

biggles - and the wildcard, silver, will soon make the market cap seem even more ridiculous imho

Charles, last friday AAU went up whilst many goldies fell back.
Was something strange going on there ? Or does it not work in reverse ?
Our personal biases don't figure in the stock market.
Price is all there is.

Having had those explanations which I don't dispute one would still argue the market cap is significantly lower than the sum of parts. The breakdown of value in this years broker note stated value of parts was 3.2p (or around there) at $1250 ounce but 5p at $1500 and we all know on this board how conservative they have been in that valuation.

The number of shares a little over over 10 years has actually grown 900%. If anyone’s looking for an answer to the head-scratching share price chart, you need go no further than that figure. I’m not saying they had any other choice. It simply is what it is.

It just means that those who loaded up following ‘shares’ magazines ‘strong buy’ review at 12p ten years ago get the picture now regarding the world of nano-caps. :o/

nwb a simple question but a more difficult answer.
The company have needed money to explore for gold since the company listed until it became self sufficient from production, which was satisfied by the issue of shares.
Because of successive raisings at ever lower prices and some dubious choices for broker in the latter years the number of shares ramped up quickly.

Hopefully that is all behind us along with poor decisions and there should be no need issue any more shares.

However the amount of shares issued and the choices made still weighs heavy here and I firmly believe this is one of the reasons we are valued as we are.

I am new to AAU and have a small holding.
The number of shares in issue has doubled over the last 5 years in steady increments - can someone help me understand this ?

Every gold miner in my portfolio or watchlist has increased by between 2-4% today - apart from AAU. Something ain't right here.
