Pleased to see that Arena are organising the large 'Cereals' conference near us in Lincolnshire (hxxps://www.cerealsevent.co.uk). I saw one of their vans entering the site. This is huge with lots of farmers and exhibitors over two days. It describes itself as: "Europe's Leading Technical Event For The Arable Industry".
As it is an annual event I hope/assume that Arena get regular business.

Actually that's odd, my browser is doing the same. Maybe it's down for some reason over the back holiday it's definitely not dodgy!

No it's the small company sharewatch magazine. Quite a useful tip sheet / analysis of companies that you might not otherwise hear about. Subscription based though so you have to sign up for a year

Assuming that SCSW refers to hxxps://www.scsw.co.uk, both my Firefox and Internet Explorer browsers report that the site is not secure and won't let me proceed. It seems to be a time-related error connected with an expired security certificate.

Was watching when the price dropped to around 32p, should have bought then, better late than never if you have belief.

Time will tell. Interesting that there were no institutional purchases yesterday, none of the large existing shareholders seemed to buy to strengthen their position. It was a spectacular collapse of the share price. Listening to the CEOs videos they mismanaged the Ryder Cup and the event in Sweden and it cost them and their shareholders. The margins are so small - £130mil of revenue and still
No profit. They are buying up their supply chain to try and grab hold of some of the profit. But it seems to me that one wrong step or unforeseen complication like bad weather can wipe out the profit not just from that single job but from the entire business. That seems to be what happened last year.

fair summary from last year. I'm no "management" fan but:
fine from US govt now settled
fund raising Aug 60p, market will want to see line of sight back at least to that IMO
focus as you say, should be on some clean numbers, EBITDA progression and paying down the net debt of c.£19m. No reason why not.
If any small acquisitions needed, use more paper as share price moves higher.
Not sure what consensus is, but they should be targeting £20m-25m EBITDA IMO on c.£150m worth of revenues. and that is what management should be measured by...that's my guess so DYOR....but if city willing to buy in at 60p and 70p, then continued progress IMO should see it trend back towards that...DYOR

£130 million of revenue and still no profit. Enlarged borrowing. Lots of news acquisitions mean increased complexity - something they have so far proven to be incapable of handling. A fine from the US Government and the share price collapsed to 35% below its IPO and 50% off its peak. Let’s see if they can avoid a self created catastrophe this summer. Once bitten - twice shy.

I hope so. I think after last years fun and games investors wanted to see Arena addressing their overtrading problem and it seems as if they have done just that. Now it's the classic waiting game to see if they can turn a profit! Margins are tight but if management can get their operational issues and integrations under control we should see that happen in the next set of results. It could be a turning point for for this battered and bruised share!

Thanks Tomps, PE 6.5 for the current year with decent dividend and strong outlook and substantial overseas earnings. Troubles behind them hopefully.

IC might do an update on these.

Arena Events (ARE) FY18 results today, (another IPO from 2018.)

A very helpful video by CEO & CFO:

Following UK operational issues last year, reassuring results. Improvements in revenue and EBITDA. Small increase in dividend. Completed eight acquisitions. Great repeat revenue. Positive outlook with plenty of upcoming major events, including US Open. US Ryder Cup and the Tokyo Olympics. Expect a strong 2019 and very strong 2020.

I just checked my numbers - yes 10.05% is Gresham’s shareholding. That’s just enough - the bare minimum, that gives them the right to insist upon a full audit. I’m going to hold onto my money and wait and see the results.

I am naturally suspicious. Gresham now own a crucial 10.05% - is that right? Just tipped themselves over. Being a 10% shareholder comes with only one right above that of a 5% shareholder and that’s to insist on a full audit of the accounts.

Is it 10.05% that Gresham now own?

So they've gone from 7.29 to 10.05 if I've got their last holdings RNS correct
