I just checked my numbers - yes 10.05% is Gresham’s shareholding. That’s just enough - the bare minimum, that gives them the right to insist upon a full audit. I’m going to hold onto my money and wait and see the results.

I am naturally suspicious. Gresham now own a crucial 10.05% - is that right? Just tipped themselves over. Being a 10% shareholder comes with only one right above that of a 5% shareholder and that’s to insist on a full audit of the accounts. Is it 10.05% that Gresham now own?

Not quite sure why, but mulling over taking a position here by buying 15,555. Or should I stay on the sidelines...

Yep - That's correct. Increased their holding to over 10%.

So they've gone from 7.29 to 10.05 if I've got their last holdings RNS correct

Yes, they didnt pick the best time to buy. I see there have been a bunch of block trades today. It will be interesting to see if they generate any paperwork in the next few days.

Castlefield B.E.S.T Sustainable UK Smaller Companies Fund stated in their Dec 2018 newsletter that they had introduced Arena as a new holding in the fund. The amount they hold must be below notifiable level, possible they might still be adding (just speculation on my part).

If big institutional shareholders are selling out in a hurry and driving down the share price, the Directors will know about it. If they are going to buy, they won't do so until the sellers have cleared. This could yet throw up a bargain buying opportunity. I am assuming that the underlying business is sound but that the upcoming results might see a bit of kitchen sinking.

Well they'll be in a closed period now if they are releasing FY results in a month. The new U.K. CEO can get his hand in his pocket for some shares after the results as well to show a bit of faith

I sold up a while ago also - but it’s interesting to watch how the thing develops or falls apart. And I’m deeply curious about what their actual results are going to be. If they still thought they were inline with the new numbers they announced in January surely they would have announced that. Surely the Directors would be buying up what would be heavily discounted shares. But no announcement and the directors aren’t buying shares. I think there could be more nasty surprises in the post.

Seems a decent likelihood that Ennismore are behind the large volume sales yesterday and today. I'd imagine they have now gone below 2% so another TR-1 is probably due. I don't really do share price predictions and I'm also no longer a holder here but the share price has held at this level despite the pummelling. Mr Lawless has his work cut out here.

Arena Events Group PLC Holding(s) in Company 18/03/2019, 3:38pm, RNS Number : 2047T Ennismore notifies reduction in holding from 3.64% to 2.72%, date of transaction causing threshold to be crossed 14/03/1019 So the large trades on 14th tie in with the disposal by Ennismore as some have been suggesting...

Looks like Ennismore have dumped another million today - like you suggested dplewis. Where and when do you think low tide is? 21pence in May, perhaps?

If Ennismore are selling out completely they have 4 million shares left to go. Could be another million from them today.

Well actually it's worse than that because they still aren't fully out. Could still have Blackrock and Ennismore selling their remaining few percent and depressing the price even further. On the bright side Cheltenham was a success and was the most attended festival on record.

Good spot DPLewis1. So that’s Blackrock and Ennismore our. I wonder which of the remaining funds will be off next and a t what price. Clearly Ennismore weren’t give a turnaround story that worked for them.

Yes I saw those big trades - but no announcements about a shift in shareholding yet. And also no announcements on Twitter from the firm showing off their usual work in progress. It has all gone very quiet. Directors aren’t buying up shares as they have done in the past, particularly the CEO who owns millions shares. If he was feeling confident or even comfortable the shares would represent a bargain as he has previosuly bout a .55 and above. Somon the basis that management isn’t butong shares, the institutionals aren’t buying either then I can only think that there’s more bad news to come when they finally announce their numbers.

Is this the worst performing stock in the last six months? I think in percentage terms it might well be the worst performing stock in the entire market.
