I'm certainly contemplating adding some more. A safe deep value play in my view and there aren't many of those around at the moment.

Point taken. And the easy answer a drop from £16 to£13 is for him a drop of £24 million.Surely he would want the price to rise? By buying stock it gives confidence to the market ( assuming he has confidence in his Bank) and he would see the share price rise, and it does not take much volume to push this price higher.
Do you have a short on the stock?

Doesn't seem a very logical line of reasoning to me: "I am underwater therefore Henry Angest should buy more shares to help me out."

Why should he?

With the stock so lowly priced, it would come as a welcome relief to see some Board members buying stock after the results .This would give a fillip to the beleaguered share price, and give some comfort to shareholders. And with limited stock it would not take many shares. Henry should increase his stake at these levels.
I am in negative territory at the moment and feel I cannot buy more.
Hope Simon T. gives the stock a good write up!

Absolutely agree. There is a lot of value waiting to be unlocked here.
But as I said,just speculating.

It all depends on Henry. Presumably he wants to maintain practical control of both ARBB and STB and that is why the two businesses are owned in the way that they are. If the two are merged in some way his control would be diluted (whether by ARRB buying out the independent shareholders in STB, or by STB swallowing its parent - makes no difference). Without understanding his aims and ambitions (?retirement) any "logical" ideas are really just speculation.

And if STB were to bid for ARBB it would have to pay considerably more than £17 - I haven't done the sums but my guess is around £24.

Just a thought, surely it makes sense for STB to buy ARBB ? At say £17 per share that would make a cost of around £250m,which after allowing for interest costs of say £12m a year would raise eps for 2016 to around 300p and nearly 400p for 2017.
Just saying....
Actually thinking about it ARBB should have plenty of cash and £115m just been raised from EL.

Why frustrating? We all know what its about..nothing has changed! Slow value play with increasing dividend while you wait for a value event which may take one year, may take 10 years. It's a high quality deep value play. There are very few of these on the UK market.

Am sure that value will out eventually but this is a very frustrating share to hold.

A demerger of Secure Trust shares would sort it out straight away! Happy to hold anyway. Might even add more.

Sentiment towards finance stocks is rock bottom. I also hold in 1pm, they seemed to have found the bottom (I hope) after finally rallying 10% yesterday as they were so cheap! Buyers in 1pm just suddenly appeared.

Hopefully the same will happen here. I'm going to top up, prior to results being announced, just need to time it right :) I'm sure Simon Thompson (Investors Chronicle) will do a write up after the results to give it a push up.

Stock must represent some value surely after the last month`s decline.
Not many trades but they all seem to be `sells`unfortunately.
Results in just over 2 weeks which should be quite acceptable according to their Trading Statement.
Then you have got to factor in the `good news` of one off profit from their recent disposal.
Certainly not a sell at the moment.

This stock was included in Simon's Bargain Shares for 2015. Theoretically, if he continues to support his viewpoint, it should be included in the 2016 bargain shares, soon to be published I hope!

Not great watching this nosedive down when the market is recovering.

About time we saw an update from Simon T. in the IC.
Price £13.80 and assets of £22 according to Simon, and the Sale of assets to be concluded in the first Q 2016.The sale was at the top end of valuations as well.
38% discount to NAV, surely far too low and with good figures in March,it must recover sometime. But who knows, that is the Stockmarket, and at the moment ,very frustrating.
