Again in the Times interesting story today.

'Google under fire in High Court app battle.'

Unlockd is seeking a permanent injunction against its threatened ejection from the app store'.
All I can say is 'haven't they heard of Appscatter'?!

The Times had a piece on 29th April, espousing the merits of the App Store of Apple and how it was becoming its great ' cash cow' now that iPhone sales are stalling.

This is a high -growth industry and WE will benefit, too,in my opinion!

True things usually revert to the placing price.

However good to have another poster.
I was months posting solo on PRSM I think or it could have been top level before it rose!

I note you couldn't have had much sleep!

It had to get to the placing price. I'm waiting to see some positive metrics from the business before committing more.

Hazl - Your solo posting suggests a limited audience thus far, which is fine by me. If the crowd were here I would be worried.

That's why it has enlarged its reach with the acquisition and the initial remit of two customer types has been extended.

Marcella says it is aiming at two types of customer: The developer with one or two apps that wants greater distribution and the larger groups, often in regulated businesses, that have hundreds of apps and need a straightforward way to monitor them all.

For the small developer, logistically the platform makes sense, he says.

Once the app is submitted it is distributed to all compatible stores worldwide. They don’t have to re-apply or go to 50 stores and download sales information as the platform provides that.

'What we like about appScatter: For any developer of an app, the challenge most often is not in the creation of the app, but rather in the deployment and promotion of it – getting maximum number of eyes onto your solution – and knowing how well it’s doing in comparison to your competition. We know that there are thousands of apps out there that make our lives easier, increase our productivity and help us simply lives our lives more easily and with less fuss. But what we love about appScatter is that they take a daily challenge and simplify it for you. Through their platform, they give you immediate visibility into performance of your app, open up opportunities where you could be taking market advantage, provide insight into your competitor’s products, and more. And if organisations like Slack, Xero and Salesforce see the benefit, then the product speaks for itself. A great, simple tool to reap maximum benefit.'

Very interesting piece in the Times business section today on Apple and the App store becoming 'the tech giant's cash cow.'

I think this is very relevant to us.

With the global market for smart phones more or less saturated ,they have to earn their fortunes in app sales, streamed music and various services.
The real money, the Times claims, is made in the App store.
It accounts for a third of Appe's services turnover and nearly all of what it generates drops to its bottom line.
If it makes 30% on any money spent on downloading or using the app it is doing very nicely.
It is a complicated issue and our business isn't quite the same but I feel there is money to be made here.

There is, as a counter to that, a bit of a back-lash against technology at the moment it has to be said.
Rightly so some people would argue, with the FAANGs of this world calling all the tunes .
However whether that will hold us back and the 'platform' becomes an ugly word
investment-wise remains to be seen.
I watch with interest.
This is a lucrative industry,$50bn turnover by 2020 bandied about in the article.

EFTV speaks to Jason Hill, Chief Revenue Officer for AppScatter during the recent Pocket Gamer Connects event in London about their business and the future of the global app ecosystem.

“Gaming companies primarily generate revenue through mobile advertising or in-app purchasing.. if they’re just on Apple & Google they limiting their reach to customers.. ”

“Apple & Google represent 51% of all global downloads, so the other 49 % is coming from the alternative stores.. When you look at China, that is an absolutely huge market to get into.. Tencent is probably the largest store in the world… it has 4 million apps and weChat has over 800 million active daily users.

Other emerging markets we see, one that people aren’t looking at at the moment is Iran – Iran is growing very quickly and have opened 2 new stores in the region.”

Yet another source!
'
'Developers that use appScatter’s platform increase audience reach for their apps by publishing to multiple app stores, which enables them to increase downloads, and therefore net advertising revenues. In the hyper-competitive app world, publishing to more app stores is an increasingly popular growth strategy, especially in emerging markets where Apple and Google’s app stores hold low market shares.'

This from Mobile Marketing Magazine.by David Murphy.
This has to help spread the word and conuln't look better for us,in my opinion!
