Annual General Meeting Statement

Key milestone achieved with James Briggs Ltd order

Applied Graphene Materials, the producer of specialty graphene materials, will be holding its Annual General Meeting at 11.00am today at The Farndale Suite, The Wilton Centre, Redcar, Cleveland, TS10 4RF, during which the Chairman, Bryan Dobson, will make the following statement:

"The Board continues to focus on the commercialisation of its products and proprietary technologies via its numerous active engagements and has made good progress in recent months.

I am pleased to report that we have recently achieved a key milestone, having fulfilled the scale-up production purchase order from James Briggs Ltd (JBL) in preparation for full product launch. JBL has successfully completed its first production batch which is a significant milestone for commercial realisation. Extensive testing has demonstrated repeated and outstanding improvements in anti-corrosion performance for JBL's automotive aerosol primer. JBL plans to launch their new range of graphene enhanced anti-corrosion aerosols under their Hycote brand.

We were also pleased to participate in the opening of the UK's Graphene Engineering and Innovation Centre (GEIC) in Manchester last week. Meeting with multiple participants, the opportunities for graphene technology remain buoyant. Finding practical application solutions for the challenges surrounding the exploitation of graphene nanoplatelet technology is the key focus of AGM's strategy for commercial progress and this is wholly complementary to the objectives of GEIC. We look forward to working closely with GEIC in the months ahead in the further development of world-class application solutions.

We have had significant changes on the Executive team in the last few months and Adrian and David have both settled into their new roles very quickly as Chief Executive and Chief Financial Officer. Their absolute focus is to increase the commercial momentum and to grow the business and revenues.

The Group continues to be well funded as it seeks to capitalise on the ever maturing pipeline of opportunities."

Notes to Editors

Applied Graphene Materials works in partnership with its customers using its knowledge and expertise to provide bespoke graphene dispersions and formats to deliver enhancements and benefits for a wide range of applications. The Group's strategy is to target commercial applications in three core markets: coatings, composites and functional materials.

The Group has developed proprietary bottom-up processes which are capable of producing high purity graphene nanoplatelets using a continuous process. The manufacturing process is based on sustainable, readily available raw materials and therefore does not rely on the supply of graphite, unlike a number of other graphene production techniques. Applied Graphene Materials owns the intellectual property and know-how behind this process.

Applied Graphene Materials was founded by Professor Karl Coleman in 2010 with its operations and processes based on technology that he initially developed at Durham University. The Group was admitted to AIM in November 2013, raising GBP11 million, and is based at the Wilton Site on Teesside. In January 2016 the Group raised GBP8.5m to support its ongoing activities and in October 2017 the Group raised a further GBP9.8m.
