Revenue is vanity, profit is sanity, cash is reality!

Good to see the CEO say "Our primary focus in the immediate term remains the delivery of further synergy benefits from Welcome Break".

Future benefits and revenues will take a hit from COVID-19. While all stocks are exposed, fuel and retail stocks are particularly so. A sensible strategy would be to preserve cash by by deferring development capital expenditure, especially from some of the more risky 'vanity' projects in the pipeline.

At 61% down over 2 years, I'm seriously considering bailing for something less risky.

They have been operating throughout the outbreak and have also received approval to keep stores open to serve the community as a essential provider of services to the public during this difficult time.

Now that's a nice update, revenue up by 53% and plans in place to deal with the impact of Covid 19.

Going to be hit badly by the COVID-19 crisis, both on fuel and retail sales. Applegreen's strategy of trying to break into the UK Motorway Services market (rather than just petrol stations) through new builds has cost them badly and is floundering. They need to focus on making the Welcome Break acquisition work and on driving revenue out of the existing estate. My investment is down 51% over 2 years and I have lost faith in Applegreen's management. Their business strategy is little better than an Irishman in a betting shop!

46 sites in the Midwest,wow!I don't understand how there's no upfront costs? CrossAmerica and partners can't be just handing them over with only lease payments? And how will upgrades/ fitouts be paid for out of working capital? They could only do up/ rebrand on a very superficial basis.I want the Applegreen DNA in every forecourt,including their vegan sausage roll,those Americans will appreciate it!

Hopefully,we'll get some idea on how the assets are bedding in and what kind of synergy their aiming for,their two ( Applegreen UK and Welcome Break) head offices are only down the road from each other.It has to be handled delicately.Apllegreen head office is a lot more efficient but you don't want to ruffle feathers.I'd probably use the Welcome Break as the overall HQ.In the States I'd get rid of those standalone Burger Kings .The Welcome Break petrol deals have a way to run but ,in time,( pardon the pun)they'd want to Break them!

Obviously management must be focused on the integration of Welcome Break with the back office functions of Applegreen in the UK,IT systems, logistics,etc.But they shouldn't lose sight of the rest of the operations.For example,going back two years to the Brandi acquisition in Carolina,if memory serves me correct ,part of the deal involved 8 stand alone Burger King restaurants.Surely,stuff like that is non-core and should be divested.

Davy issues a 28 page report on Apple green and the Welcome Break acquisition,in summary,they like it and see upside to their 7.20 euro price target.
