Totally agree Fozzie, don't see the point trying to nick 20% - 30%. stay in a stock for a few years, if things are going well, and you could see a 5 bagger plus.

A few jumping out as well, seems to happen to all my stocks now, is nobody ltbh anymore? Everybody trying to scalp 5-20%, you won't make any decent money with that approach imo.

Amazing and with no official news!

Were off again!

This is a strong move ahead of next weeks results. Does someone know something?

In any case it would be very cheap if the results are even in line with market expectation.

Ive also been buying ahead of Tuesdays results. Clearly Im hoping for something on the upside to expectation and I'm thinking that will come from the Aspen acqusition. Plus some integration cost savings.

Yes an excellent day all round. Nice and warm on the beach and a Breakout above the 'upper Bollinger Band'. If management can combine expected good results next week with say an announcement regarding the vacant Head of Finance/FD position and/or with other positive news then the breakout will IMO be confirmed and we can continue the overdue move North.

Hugely encouraging news, with UK #space exports set to grow to £25bn over next decade, meeting industry & government target for them to make up 60% of UK’s space sector revenue by 2030. #ExportingisGREAT #SpaceIsGreat @tradegovuk @spacegovuk @OxfordSpace hxxps://t.co/QDSwpgwdry

golddigger - Thanks for your kind sentiments. I know that Richard & the team are exploring different ways of highlighting the investment case. Hopefully that will progress with results beginning to back up the turnaround commentary surrounding the company.

As courtesy, declaration that I’ve added 100k to my position this morning. Results out next Tuesday & I’m hopeful they’ll be positive. Aspen contribution kicking in for the entirety of the H1 reporting cycle.

Kind regards
GHF

My worse preforming stock over the last three years. APC lucky to have GHF following otherwise no commentary from the financial press. I went to the annual meeting and enthused over the plan for more stockholder information but apart from Twitter technical stuff where is it?

I have done some research into the company and agree it's a much better company. You quite right it's now a recovery stock and imo the stock is cheap on the basis of future growth predictions. Time will tell.

May I be blunt? If you are comparing the now APC with the APC of 10 years ago then I would seriously do some research. This is a turnaround, I suspect Investors of 10 years ago have probably been diluted and will see no positive return for a good while.....(although I have not run the numbers). However, recent Investors.....hopefully a different story....

I took a small position today. I was last in this stock around 10yrs ago and sold out at a small profit. Looking at the shares performance since then it's not been very good and the share price is at the same price I last bought the stock last time. I agree with other posters that with a PBT growth rate of 16 - 35% in the next 2yrs you would expect an upgrade in share price and possibly a higher P/E ratio. The company has had an EPS of 1.0p previous and traded well above 22p. I am sure patient investors will be rewarded in due course.

Great post insider6. Agree there should be a correlation between the share price & earnings. It’s been nice to see an uptick in the last few days and if APC deliver per forecasts then hopefully the share price will get a further boost.

I’d take 15p on release of FY19 results if they grow earnings by +35% this year.

We’ve now only 3 weeks until H1 2019 results are released & this time round we’ll have a full contribution from Aspen who were acquired a month prior to FY18.

The 2018 Annual Report (p43) indicates on Aspen,

”One month's trading has been included within the consolidated Group results. Revenue of £466,000 and a profit before tax of £53,000 has been recognised.”

So in 1 month of ownership (month of August 2018) Aspen delivered an impressive £53k. On such a short timescale it’s difficult to draw any firm comparisons, but we know from the acquisition RNS for Aspen they were forecast to deliver,

”Aspen has continued to grow in the year to 30 June 2018 and it is expected to report an adjusted EBITDA of £0.55 million.”

Therefore, not unreasonable to factor in c.£600k PBT contribution from Aspen for FY19 I’d have thought (12 x £50k PBT per month).

So, I’m hopeful we’ll observe Aspen weighing in; decent growth in APC Time (BBC infrastructure contract amongst others); the beefed up APC Locator doing well; APC Lighting continuing as preferred supplier with numerous FM companies...and hopefully adding more; the RF & Microwave side benefitting from increased IED jamming device orders (remember the chaos at Gatwick Airport with drones!!!) plus there are a number of other supply lines that have been added to the group in the last year such as 3D Space that will hopefully now be providing a decent contribution.

I’m sure I’m only just scratching the surface.

Just my take & delighted to see insider6 also kicking the tyres by attempting to reconcile valuation vs the current share price. We’re certainly on the same page in believing that the share price could materially re-rate.

Kind regards,
GHF

Since APC fiscal year ending August 2017 and after the APC management review, PBT has risen each year from £0.42m in F2017 to £0.68m in F2018. The share price has remained stable over that period whilst the MC increased by over £3m. Obviously this was because of the increased number of shares in issue, but clearly illustrates that there should be a correlation between share price and PBT if the number of shares in issue does not change.

Moving on to the current year, back in July 2018 the house broker was forecasting £1.64m PBT in our current year. There is no reason to assume this will not happen as management have recently stated that they are trading in line with expectations. We will know more about this on May 21st when the interims are announced but assuming year-end current projections are met or even exceeded then the share price should reach 15p once the final year end results are announced in December.

GHF’s excellent post has illustrated the profitable growth potential of each of APC’s operating divisions and I believe it will not be long before we see an updated broker forecast to take into account the significant opportunities which have occurred with the latest acquisition since the last update.

I own SOLI too, I'm glad to say, since their share price has shot up recently. At this rate they could use an all share offer to pick up APC on the cheap.
