11/12/2019 21:45 | Volume has been increasing daily. Maybe peeps catching up with the three recent positive news items (new contract, results and new £3 options). Or maybe something else? Lots of round number buys too, which suggests bigger players at work than the average PI. | someuwin

11/12/2019 12:21 | Just one to keep holding until 400p is reached, then review I added on the dips this year, one to firmly tuck away Resistance1: 102.75p Resistance2: 120.01p A close above 102.75 will be interesting. See what happens on Friday onwards, clear Tory majority needed to boost markets. | ny boy
11/12/2019 11:14 | Housekeeping point: I’ve shortened the header by moving the older RNS Updates (June 18 to June 19) across to post no.7 as an archive should you want to look back at those. Less scrolling to do now! | bones

11/12/2019 10:19 | Can buy £3k online. But not £4k. So it looks likely to move sharply higher if we get any buying pressure. | someuwin
11/12/2019 09:52 | Sooner or later the price had to move and expect a strong upward movement over the next few days | cocker
10/12/2019 16:48 | Paying over £1 for a good sized lump too. Once the three digits becomes accepted, hopefully investors will not be frightened off by the psychology of big numbers! | bones

10/12/2019 09:31 | Thanks Bones - puts a bit more balance to the discussion. Haven’t watched it but as it’s Newsnight, might their angle be that the NHS is doing ‘cheap’ stents rather than the ‘full’ job politicising medicine? | semper vigilans
10/12/2019 09:09 | As a patient faced with a choice, it is not so easy and may depend on their specific circumstances. So, according to the Newsnight report, the statistics suggested that proportionately having the simpler stent procedure increased death likelihood by a factor of 13%:10% in the longer term versus open heart surgery. What did not get a mention was that, prior to having open heart surgery, the patient is asked to sign a form acknowledging that the surgery itself has a 2% chance of causing death and a further 2% chance of causing a stroke. I don’t think a similar disclaimer is required for stent insertions? I am not sure of the stent procedure disclaimer form. Also, some patients may feel more comfortable running the marginal extra risk to life expectancy in return for not being opened up to the discomforts of open heart surgery. Probably depends on their own health circumstances, having taken their consultant’s advice? | bones

10/12/2019 08:18 | CABG = coronary artery bypass graft. | langland
10/12/2019 08:04 | For years there has been a turf war between interventional cardiologists and Cardio-Thoracic surgeons. I suspect this might shift the balance back a little towards the surgeon. AorTech trials will all be of surgical devices so no comparable with endovascular or TAVI. There is an opportunity for a better CABG and Elasteon must have a role to play. | landy90
10/12/2019 07:59 | No should be the simple answer. I do not currently have time to provide bigger explanation but the study seems to be about the relative merits of using stents against open heart surgery where a vein (usually from the leg) is grafted onto the heart arteries to bypass any blockages. Use of the latter is generally believed to last about 20 years while use of stents 10 years or less. These are very general estimates. It is easy to see why stents have been more popular because the procedure lasts maybe half an hour with the patient able to leave hospital within 24-48 hours while surgery takes about 4 hours followed by several days post operative care. Estimated cost for latter is 40k while stents are a fraction. The latter have to be chemically coated to prevent clotting so it is easy to see why elasteon coated stents would be an attractive option. This is just a layman's viewpoint based on my own experience. | langland
