Skyviia licenses ANT Galio HbbTV

Targets growing Android-based TV applications market across European HbbTV compliant countries

ANT (AIM:ATNP), an established provider of software and services for the delivery of digital TV, today announces that Skyviia Corporation has licensed the ANT Galio HbbTV Platform and core TV applications. Based in Taiwan, Skyviia is a market pioneer in System-on-a-Chip solutions for innovative digital multimedia products.

The ANT Galio Platform and core TV applications will be integrated with Skyviia's technology for two new Android-based HbbTV (Hybrid Broadcast Broadband TV) product lines. Both product ranges will support HbbTV services along with regional, niche applications, and will target the fast growing European HbbTV market.

Skyviia's deep semiconductor experience combined with ANT's turnkey HbbTV offering will reduce both cost and development time for Skyviia customers, which include many Tier-1 retail brands.

By selecting the ANT Galio HbbTV Platform, Skyviia will benefit from ANT's considerable market experience as a founding member of the HbbTV consortium and proven deployment history. Since its public launch in 2009, HbbTV has grown from the first deployments seen in Germany to a wide range of services in France along with trials in Spain, Austria and the Netherlands. Skyviia will target all of these markets along with new HbbTV countries as they adopt the standard.

Brian Sung, Executive Vice President, at Skyviia Corporation commented: "ANT's HbbTV deployment record with a variety of device manufacturers and its involvement within the HbbTV consortium, highlights the strong level of experience that it has. By integrating the ANT Galio HbbTV Platform onto our new HbbTV product ranges, we are able to support our customers in targeting this growth market across Europe."

Sean Kim, VP & General Manager for Asia & Russian Markets at ANT said: "We're pleased to be working with Skyviia on its new Android-based HbbTV solutions. The flexibility of the ANT Galio Platform enables Skyviia to offer its customers a turnkey solution to deliver quick-to-market products. And by opting for an Android based solution, it is able to tap into the growing development market of Android-based TV applications."

Yes,the House Broker also pencilled in losses of £800K for 2011 and £200K for 2012. Given that we are going to be nearer next years figures in the forthcoming results, then they should hopefully be near to break-even, or heaven forbid a profit!!

I think in November they cut their 'buy' target from 60p to 25p based on the 'below' statement. Hoping to see that 25p revised upwards now things are back on track.

Yes, welcome news today. Lets hope that this year unfolds as hoped for and we could see further upside. Should be interesting to see the next Broker note.

Good statement this morning, and more in line with what I was expecting (hoping) when I bought. The November statement was a surprise to me so this does make up for it (and at least they have communicated well with shareholders).

Also worth noting that Kestrel have somewhat reduced the free-float.

Agreed, some hot techies out there and also a bit of M&A about as well while things are cheap. ANTP certainly falls into the cheap category with the valuation not much different to cash and equivalents.
