07/10/2011 06:59 | Shouldn't be the only place to mention ANT either. About to become a flying ANT! | hastings
07/10/2011 06:29 | Blimey, mentioned in the FT now, let us hope we get some decent buying interest today: ANT was marked 8.9 per cent higher at 24½p after the software developer hosted a presentation for analysts about the latest developments in the TV market. The company also demonstrated its ANT Galio Move product, which allows users to stream live and recorded content directly from their set-top box or TV via Wi-Fi to a laptop or tablet anywhere in the home. "We expect ANT to achieve sustainable profitability in the coming months and in our view the market is currently attributing little value to this," said Arbuthot Securities. | chrisdgb
06/10/2011 22:53 | Is this virgin queen set to fly!!! | hastings
06/10/2011 17:08 | bones30-no, the Arbuthnot note does not include any upside from Galio move. In fact, it does say the 60p figure could well prove to be conservative! While all notes should be taken with a certain amount of salt, i will counter that. The numbers do not look extreme and given the roll out of next generation set top boxes from 2012 and the partners already aligned to Ant, then the shares could do very well. The mkt cap represents little more than cash and assets, so the potential upside would appear solid. Ant will never be as big a success as some of the other Cambridge stars, but it looks set to finally come good and may be highly rewarding. | hastings
06/10/2011 16:14 | Still on their list (website). | bones30
06/10/2011 16:14 | Bones, He used to be, I think he sold out a while ago. Cheers, SM. | site manager
06/10/2011 15:44 | Also does the Arbuthnot 60p target take into account Galio? | bones30
06/10/2011 15:40 | Hi, Interested in this one. What would be really nifty is if a Samsung App (on newish Sammy TVs) could be achieved allowing the STB (e.g. Humax Freeview HD) EPG to be accessed and content watched via wifi. Anyone know if this is on the cards? Excited about this company's prospects, it does seem hard to buy stock. Is the R Farleigh on the significant shareholder list the Dragon (from Dragon's Den) ? | bones30
06/10/2011 15:36 | Just out in The Guardian......we could fly......!!! Aim-listed technology group ANT has high hopes for its new software, which allows consumers to watch live television programmes on IPads and other mobile devices, and has been demonstrating it to City investors. Installed as part of the set top box, ANT's software can support up to five mobile devices, giving families the option of using interactive TV or watching different programmes - live or recorded - through a wi-fi connection, all with just one TV. Customers will pay a one off fee of around £10 to download an app for their mobile device, while ANT receives licensing fees from the set top box manufacturers. Having demonstrated the product at the recent IBC show in Amsterdam, it has received what chief executive Simon Woodward called a "staggering" amount of interest. It is now in talks with a number of set top box manufacturers about licensing out the software, and hopes to announce deals before too long. Once signed, the company reckons products could be in the shops by January. ANT is also working on producing software to work with smaller devices such as the IPod Touch and IPhone, as well as moving towards an Android version. Once the product is available for shop-bought set top boxes, the company hopes to open discussions with Sky and Virgin Media about incorporating the software in their proprietary software. | chrisdgb
06/10/2011 14:34 | Wow very bullish, thanks.... | chrisdgb
06/10/2011 14:09 | Thank you for link Hastings. | site manager
06/10/2011 12:58 | Seems a good move and would certainly have expected it to go down well with existing and potential investors. A little mention from Tuesday at the end of this | hastings
06/10/2011 08:06 | Indeed, particularly as with all the cash the business is so lowly rated.... | chrisdgb
06/10/2011 07:13 | Hopefully analysts and Investors will like todays presentation. | drw1
06/10/2011 07:11 | Announcement today, good to see and you get the feeling the positive momentum is building here....... TV Market Update ANT (LSE AIM: ANTP), a provider of software and services for the delivery of digital TV, will today be hosting a presentation for analysts and investors on the latest developments in the TV market, including a demonstration of the recently launched ANT Galio Move product. No update will be given on current trading. ANT Galio Move allows users to stream live and recorded content directly from their Set-Top Box (STB) or TV via Wi-Fi to their companion device - anywhere in the home, opening up a range of new viewing scenarios. This addition to the ANT Galio software family is the Company's first entry into the companion device market. Maximising the functionality of STBs and TVs, ANT Galio Move enables broadcasters, operators, and, TV and STB vendors to offer extended live TV viewing on companion devices, such as the Apple iPad; responding directly to the growing demand from viewers for a 'TV everywhere' experience. Simon Woodward, CEO of ANT, commented, "The past year has seen some significant changes to the structure of the TV market, as it responds to the growing demand from consumers for more sophisticated and flexible means of viewing TV. ANT's software sits at the heart of these developments, helping to open up new opportunities for broadcasters, device manufacturers and content developers. We are delighted to be able to showcase today our new product, ANT Galio Move, which takes ANT into the companion device market, which is just one example of this expanding market opportunity for our software." | chrisdgb
04/10/2011 13:23 | sounds good....thanks for that....still hoping for some decent contract news to move us higher...mkt not the best, but the Harvard bid shows the potential.. | chrisdgb
04/10/2011 13:13 | Managed to have a look at the Arbuthnot note from September and a good read it is too. The 60p target price does not include any uplift from Galio Move, which it appears went down very well recently in Amsterdam. The company appears a little more cautious on next years numbers citing break even or a small profit against the Brokers £600k profit. Certainly some potential upside over the next few years particularly in light of the next generation of set top boxes coming through. | hastings
30/9/2011 11:07 | Surprised we did not move on the bid for Harvard....shows the great prospects here.. | chrisdgb
30/9/2011 10:38 | Looks like it is thinking about it though Chris | yangou
27/9/2011 11:28 | Not taking part in the equity rally as yet.... | chrisdgb
21/9/2011 12:59 | Nice post chrisdgb. Also as an aside i see that Ant has moved its reg office to the science park in a building which houses Qualcomm. | hastings
21/9/2011 09:14 | Latest snippet from the company blog, again interesting stats: Hunt urges telecom firms to put aside rivalries in bid to roll out superfast broadband The RTS (Royal Television Society) Cambridge Convention took place here in Cambridge, UK, last week. The event at Kings College called TV Everywhere: Paths to Growth brought together executives from across the broadcast industry. Culture Secretary Jeremy Hunt addressed the conference and issued a call to action to telecoms firms to put aside rivalries to roll out superfast broadband. The Government's ambition is that the UK should have the best broadband network in Europe by 2015, with 90% of homes and businesses having access to up to 40MBps superfast broadband. Superfast broadband will be critical to the mainstream adoption of internet services that require high bandwidth such as connected TVs. Hunt warned that disputes between BT and rival telecom operators over the price of renting BT ducts were delaying the roll out of fibre. Watchdog Ofcom has promised to intervene but it's unlikely that the issue will be settled until 2012. Hunt also called for a cross-media approach to fighting anti-piracy. He said that advertisers, credit card companies, and ISPs should cut ties with web sites that serve illegal content. | chrisdgb
20/9/2011 10:29 | seems well supported at these levels....would be nice to see some buying to take us higher... | chrisdgb
