When the share price previously broke through 300p a while back these were chased up a bit by all the idiotic momentum traders obsessed by round numbers and chart breakouts. None of them having a clue what the company actually does..


Personally myself i am looking to add to my holdings which i haven't done for a good while but right now i am berefit of cash so i need to wait a little longer, but it's dips like this that provide excellent opportunities to the patient investor..

Puzzled by the sharp drop in price since the AGM. I attended and whilst some areas still struggling, the overall impression was that both volumes and margin were holding up well, so there will hopefully be no nasty surprises when half year results come out next month.

Similarly large holding myself and, like you, similarly baffled as to why they have not been bought out long before now.

Re the increase in various risks - this is the same with so many public (and private) companies right now. It is not surprising really considering everything that has gone on and is going on in the world.

Jubilated that the "you've gotta do an IMC" message has finally got through..

Management confirmed at the AGM that it is the Shore forecasts they are referring to. They are hoping to speak with Canaccord - who had previously published without management consultation/inputs - later today. Another shareholder also suggested to them that in the future they should have a footnote with the numbers they refer to.

To be worked out during the course of the day - will Canaccord move up from their pretty bearish full year forecast, effectively raising consensus?

Very encouraging if only inline. That's the great thing about being an internationally diversified operation that if one area of the world not doing so good others areas usually are..

AGM update the week after next

It's a curious situation, because 1) I think the business will be firing away nicely against low-ish expectations, and 2) the brokers are in two completely different EPS places for 2024. The house broker Shore Capital materially upgraded their 2024 estimate to 17.8p at the last update while Canaccord (unintelligently, I think) are dragging the 'consensus' EPS forecast way down.

I suspect what we will see is either that the business is performing decently and in-line with Shore Capital's forecast, or that it's performing well and potentially running a little ahead of Shore Capital

In either case, that would prompt a very material earnings upgrade as Canaccord raise their forecast in line with that of Shore Capital.

So a very nice setup even if it's a weird technical one going into the AGM statement as I think there's a more than good chance that we're going to see the consensus average estimate tick up to at least in-line with Shore Cap.

If Canaccord did move in line, the consensus number would increase from 15.85p to 17.8p, which would be a 12% upgrade.

I was surprised to see the RNS saying that Lord Lee had gone plus 3% given the share price increase and then saw it was a late report as it had happened August 30th last year when the price was in the 200p area which makes more sense.

Recently Anpario (ANP) stated that it was “pleased to announce its full year results for the twelve months to 31 December 2023”. The results actually included lower earnings, revenue and cash
