I agree with Michael. 140p is the key level, break this and it should be fairly plain sailing to 160. It keeps banging its head and falling back, but it will get there sooner or later.

He suggests we should look for a break out above previous resistance of 140.

Being a little more accurate, the previous double-top resistance in January was 137.

We broke above there lst week and it was actually back-tested on Friday in a tiny way, so maybe we are in clear blue territory now.

And the 50 dma crossed upwards over the 200 dma recently - another nice strong signal.

The February up channel certainly looks very nice and strong.

But I have to admit I don't buy and sell on chartist theories!

Thanks. It's on my radar since its efforts to transition to greener resources. The cobalt acquisition looks tidy, but may needs some time to bed down.

This week's Investor's Chronicle has a double page feature "Anglo Pacific poised to pop" "Mining royalty specialist's shares are testing resistance levels -
Next staging post could signal more gains to come"

LLB We are not far apart, perhaps I’m a little more positive on the divi. Thanks for your thoughts on the financial breakdown. Originally I was in at 1.22 but have averaged up a little. I think there might be a little more buying opportunity depending on what happens in the bond markets on Monday.

#Cocopops... not quite, I had a target of 210p on APF before the VB deal adding to income, so not including any uplift for the deal, but EPS remains pretty flat now the share capital has gone up +20%, I expect DPS to remain in balance so c9-10p, but could surprise to the upside pending income generated exceeding expectation, and with Copper/Cobalt/Vanadium/Iron Ore prices as they are, that looks likely.. :o)

FY2018 | GBP 49.4M income | 28.8M net | 15.97 EPS | PE 9.00 | 145p
FY2019 | GBP 59.5M income | 29.0M net | 16.06 EPS | PE 11.5 | 183p
FY2020 | GBP 36.0M income | 18.0M net | 10.00 EPS | PE 12.8 | 128p
FY2021 | GBP 70.0M income | 35.0M net | 17.00 EPS | PE 12.0 | 210p target price (revised earnings)

Then add in some increment for US/Canadian company exposure where they trade off a higher PE multiple than here in the UK..

Yes, and here's an interview with JT today. This time from Proactive in North Americahttps://www.proactiveinvestors.co.uk/companies/amp/news/942491?__twitter_impression=true&s=09

The Deacon, estimated year 01 income from VB stream of USD 13-17M | GBP9-12M
Reasonable expectations of USD 25M | GBP 18M a year going forward..

Full 2021 portfolio income of c60M from existing royalties plus VB | GBP 69-72M ... :o)

But the push into Canada/US markets is a key driver as royalty companies there trade off double the multiples of UK ones.. and could produce some great results as the new II's come onboard..

But yes, I will settle for a 10% ROI all day long, and paying a 7% yield..!

Swanvesta, in a world of negative bond yields and with the Uk 10 year returning 0.78% before any inflation adjustment, I would suggest the actual returns are more than satisfactory. Take a look at the share prices of FNV and WPM over 5 & 10 years and see how they’ve benefitted from such royalty and streaming deals. What you’re calculations aren’t showing is the distinct likelihood of Cobalt prices going higher especially Cobalt from such a safe & secure jurisdiction

Consider the risk mitigation through holding the royalty on a project vs being the operator. All operational risk is carried by the operator. The royalty holder gets paid whatever, and isn't exposed to capex or opex blowouts. Though a series of royalties and streams the portfolio income is well protected vs any single asset problems. Some of the precious metals royalty players pick up deals with low single digit IRR's. Their cash costs though can be as low as $300 per attributable gold ounce. Most of the precious metals royalty companies are enjoying margins of 85%+

Sorry for harping on about NPV. I'm new to royalty companies and am bemused by how low the actual returns on capital are, compared with the projects they finance. And yet they are valued much higher!

I've put the first 20 years payments into an NPV calculator I found online. Hopefully the link will work - you need to click the Calc button to get the results. You can see NPV5 is quite modest, and NPV8 is negative (which is what you'd expect with IRR 7%):
