IC have a column on them today, they conclude buy:-

IC View

Anglo Pacific’s thermal coal holding - which it has said it won’t add to - is not a major earner but metallurgical coal dropping is more serious for the royalty company. This is an income stock, however, and a dividend revision looks unlikely. Buy.

Dividend cover for 2019 was 2.3 * earnings, profit was USD29M after tax, and the current yield is 7.5% at an share price of 118p.., profits get rolled back into more shares or new royalties..

APF is a long term hold for the dividend and to see 1 or 2 new portfolio additions added each year, then 5-10 years out as each come online adding new revenues, over time these streams will slowly offset Kestrel phasing out in 4/5 years, and then keep adding, the portfolio is re-balancing and I expect to see some EV metal additions soon as Julian has indicated already.. ..

H2-2020 earnings will be stronger than Q1 as our commodities and miners work through CV19 stoppages and recover..

Buy the dips, earlier bargains at 115/116 pence now dried up, thanks very much ... :o)

I couldn't see what would bring the share price to hit 1.16 and fill the gap on the daily. But the sells around this figure may well have done it. Of course, it was right in front of me - half year results was the cause. I've been waiting for weeks for this to happen and yes, I pulled the trigger and bought most of my position around current levels. What a great company to buy at these prices - and one which pays such a good dividend! I love these royalty companies.

Haywards 26 - you're spot on!

Management here are spot on in my view and will continue to grow the business and keep moving to a more environmentally attractive portfolio.

Current prices offer a great level for growth and divi yield as an investor...

The reduction in interim performance was all Covid related (raw material pricing/activity) and out of managements hands. Prices do have ups and downs dependent on the macro economical and political environments.

Buy the dips I say.

The cash generated from royalties easily covers the dividend.
The funding of acquisitions is discretionary, and is a balance between growth and debt. From what I can tell, management are not scared to use debt given the right opportunities, and keep cash levels relatively low given there's zero return to be had from sitting on a pile of cash.

Page 16 of the annual report and accounts shows this more clearly than I am able to describe.

we knew that a director had sold tonnes of shares using a divorce settlement as the excuse.

'-- Net debt of GBP40m at the end of June 2020 (GBP28.8m at the beginning of the year) reflecting H1 dividends, including the final dividend paid at the end of June of GBP10.4m, 2019 final tax payments of GBP9.3m, along with the payment of the last US$1.5m tranche of deferred consideration for Maracás Menchen'

How can you pay dividends using debt!?

Correction. As I expected based on the price of thermal coal and the impact this would have on APF. Clearly a few exiting this AM - I am considering adding. I am sure we will see some director purchases in the coming weeks if the price remains at these levels.

These buywells keep cropping up on various boards......what they all seem to have in common, is that all of them are as daft as a brush......

Wasn't really anything we didn't already know. We knew coal prices were softer. We knew LIORC had reduced their payout recently. We also knew about the two operations on C&M, and likewise we knew the situation with Largo and it's vanadium operations. It's not surprising revenue was lower in H1. Almost all companies were in the same boat.

You can always rely on APF to update on time. H1 as expected.

Good read by Julian in the FT - thanks for the heads up.

Possibly. In previous interviews he's been very specific about nickel sulphide projects, though he's dropped the sulphide specificity recently. If Orion come back as part of the larger financing deal then I think it'll be syndicated with APF.

Taken to HZM with thanks.

Could HZM be one of the deals ?? Nickel & oven ready, they have been linked in the past.

Cheers Hay.

Snippet of feedback posted elsewhere regarding yesterday's presentation:"Good presentation from Julian. Expecting a few deals to be completed in 2020. Other than that, solid interview, focusing on 21st century resources and materials. Julian identified copper, rare earths, cobalt and nickel as particular targets"

I make it around a 7% yield at this price - can’t knock that. Agree, the downward drift is overdone IMO especially when you look at other mining stocks.

Hope there will be news soon re an acquistion. The share price has been steadily drifting downwards. Surely in these markets there must be some opportunities for them . A balance to be struck between caution and replacing kestral royalty but seems to be favouring the former at the moment
