switched off earlier as advfn feed speed was doing my nut in!!! :-) LOL :-),,, thankfully it's now sorted,,, and I see AAZ share price hasn't fallen on the RNS, so that's fine with me for now... :-),,, but, senior management aren't getting any younger,, nor are we LOL,, so, I do wonder what their succession plan looks like,, or even if they have one?? apols if they do and I've missed it...

Cheers
Wan :-)

Agree Bumpa, SPA are a waste of time, just a cheap option to tick a box, as always has been the case to my mind. Suppose they feel no point ditching them really unless they need to raise funds.

Good news, but timescales do appear to have lengthened to reach proper mid-tier, and not what the board states as being mid-tier. BM was reported, as I recall, to have stated quite some time ago that 100k was mid-tier status. I was somewhat surprised to hear that was the scale of his ambition. At least the boards view is consistent.

I tend to view AAZ as a reasonably safe dividend payer for now, but to be kept under review

Rb - I can understand the impatience with AAZ, they seem to have perfected the art of going sideways. Still think they’re a decent company.

Edit: can’t understand why they persist with SPA though…

This is just a general observation but I’m sure back in the old days wildcat oil drillers when reporting well results either had a hit or a miss, these days it seems like there’s about a dozen other results in between…! Not a cynic of course.

Bumpa tbh I find it a laugh that so many lifestyle boards deliver sweet f.a. Still remember my conversations with Nigel Ferguson before he stepped down as CEO many moons ago. Some would question AAZ directors, yet there is no comparison in my mind.

"Small cell volumes and therefore small flotation plant footprint"
More like pots than huge tanks :0)
More efficient and faster process too.
Explains why a doubling in throughput can be achieved, yet no extension to the housing needs to be built.

I'll second you on that LLB

This $2.5mn may be recouped within a year of operation.
Hard to say for sure without knowing the margins for the concentrates.

"The crushing circuit of the current agitation leaching plant will be used to provide the additional crushing capacity required for the expanded flotation plant."

Looks like there will be a substantial excess in capacity at the AL plant by time Zafar kicks off; hopefully that will coincide with the enlarged flotation plant ko in Q3.
That makes sense to me, especially if Vejnaly output is processed to a concentrate on site, then shipped to market, rather than to Gedabek; an option that AAZ have been considering.
Then, by Q3, the feed into the AL plant therefore likely to be just the HG ore from the dual underground mines, supplemented by small scale but decidedly HG feed from Gosha [Hassan]; there won't be much from the open pit, the residual production being decidedly coppery and low grade gold heading into flotation.

So, the switch of some of the critical crushing capacity to serve the doubled up flotation throughput makes for a better balanced plant.
If and when any increase in AL feed is called for, guess AAZ will be spending a fair lot more on this $2.5mn [SAG+Ball mills + maybe a new, 3rd primary crusher?]
Who knows, Gilar might actually come up trumps in 2024.

So, for just $2.5mn and doubling of flotation capacity there will be:

For ~$1mn: The new cells. Including zinc circuit.
For $0.5mn: a new thickener and filter press.
For $1mn: Housing mods + pumps, electrical panels and some minor ancillary items.

A helpful and welcome RNS.

More please.

pogue,
Ref PRD.

They did not do a flow test on the first well as the pressure was too high for the test equipment.

“The second well is in the main body of the gas and 'should' hit it, again very high pressure but they have the right rig this time and just have to see how it flows then they will flowtest the first well.”

Is there any reason why will not flowtest the first well before they drill the second well.

If I have this right……they will drill the second well………flowtest that (assuming they hit gas)……….and then go flowtest the first well.

I would like to see the results of the flowtest for well No1 before we drill well No.2.

Cheers.

Going from 54-58,000 GEOs up to 100,000 a year is almost double, and that is a mighty fine effort for USD2.5M CAPEX on new flotation cells/technology, efficiency improvements and energy savings from lower power consumption too, just what I/we have been expecting as Zafer inches forward to a producing mine..

Add in Kashen, Vejnaly, Garadag, Xarxar CAs and over time we will get closer to a genuine mid-tier producing scale company..

Doubling down at circa 70p now looking validated.. :o)

little by little we are learning more about they are getting up to.
The ore sorter was announced after they have got on with it and todays news show they have this new flotation tech that has been on site for a while.
Plenty going on

but intuitional investors are able to hold the board to account over oddities that we get at AAZ like nepotism, mates rates loans to employees, talking about take overs that never are mentioned again etc. I would not worry if the board seemed aligned to other shareholders but they are not clearly from their actions. IIs can do that they can ask awkward questions and get answers.

Large institutional investors generating pressure to achieve are certainly no better at producing success in junior miners

Oh everyone agrees we wish it was moving faster wan.

The main step to mid tier comes from either the move into Garadagh/Xarxar (some details of which should be covered in the upcoming growth strategy) and/or from the move into Kyzilbulag/Demirli (which is entirely dependent on a peace deal/another war)

If both land you’ll see a huge increase and then we’ll be borrowing plenty. They could get the debt tomorrow if they wanted but they have to finish the analysis/plan for Garadagh/Xarxar before they can move on that. The other is non-moveable til access is granted.

Excellent news of the expansion of its flotation plant, which will be doubled in capacity, and provide additional operational flexibility.

"Anglo Asian is at the beginning of its next phase of growth, as we prepare to bring a number of new mines into production. The development of our medium-term growth strategy is well underway and we need to increase our processing capabilities to accommodate additional ore production”.

Their choice of contractors Maelgwyn Mineral Services (based in Cardiff) are a world leader in the development and application of advanced technologies for the mineral process. One Imhoflot cell has been under test at Gedabek since April 2022 and it has produced excellent results. Tried and tested technology well in hand for short and medium term expansion, including zinc processing.

Maelgwyn aslo published Recovery of fine gold loss to tailings using advanced pneumatic reactor flotation Imhoflot, so perhaps Aaz already have one eye on soon to be redundant tailings pond and its content estimated to be $30ml of contained metals.
