Some additional musings on STCM..

The net cash change in year was almost zero if you exclude the effect of FX revaluation on bank deposits.

Net operating cash flow was $22.7m, from which $2.2m net of borrowings were paid down and $2m of lease liabilities. The company also paid $2.9m in income tax in 2020, with the tax charge only being $2.0m - presumably paying 2019 taxes, so next year might be lower. Dividends of 4p were paid in the calendar year (though only 3p related to the accounting year - 1p was the 2020 interim) costing $11.5m, $1.2m paid in financing costs and c$3m spent on Capex.

Due to the expansion of Capex for next year, which sounds promising, and should help improve/maintain margins, I now don't expect a dividend increase in the short-term.

Sooner or later, with borrowings completely done, there will be an additional c$3.5m freed up, maybe more, if these additional rail wagons reduce lease costs? That is based on 2020 numbers, where production was down a little due to unplanned maintenance.

4p dividend cost $11.5m, so there will be room to grow it to 5p per annum fairly comfortably within the next year or two, maybe higher depending on the impact of the capex spending on efficiencies and output - my thoughts.

PUR

Bit of confusion here.

The post on the PUR BB is from last year.....its taken from the H-L site, PUR, news tab.

There has been a rise/jump in the PUR share price .....but the info in the post on the PUR BB is not the reason.

=====
I have bought a few....in anticipation of the news to come (7.00 tomorrow??)....which is/will be the cause of the share price jump.

NSCI has had a rollicking good few days BUT

IF we break c.£2 it looks to have potential to go much higher (maybe even all time highs of £20)

Mkt Cap at £2 is only c.£30m

I did say on NSCI

And I think PYC has NSCI characteristics

Micro-cap (£6m)
Limited float/illiquid so can be exaggerated moves on News
News imminent (from known knowns + potential unknown unknowns)
Involved in super hot area at nexus of Cancer and AI

I remember when Tony Blair got elected in 97 saying no more nukes and we are going green. Its taken 20 years for everyone to work out that nukes are the only 'green' solution to getting enough electricity to power the UK as you need a secure baseload to run any power system, unless you are a greenie then magic mushrooms and wishful thinking works. It took 20 years for the politicians to admit what to me was blatantly obvious and restart building them, at horrific cost I must add. I would not be surprised in 20 years they may restart oil drilling lol, could be a lot of money to be made there for engineers with O&G experience :0)
Edit
re price of oil and gas, if that goes up so does everything made of plastic. Also how do you make roads for the electric vehicles. All mushroom inspired madness but there is money in selling mushrooms to idiots. I have jumped in the day job from O&G to renewables, its is madder than you think here :0)

For wanobi and a number of us here.... PUR is starting to make some moves.....do they have production/grade sorted out ?.....If that's the case it could move 50% quickly......IMHO.

Any moment now someone will say he drinks in the same pub as Neil Woodford! :¬)

AAZ getting a positive mention by a tipster isn't a problem, even from a somewhat chequered tipster.

All it now takes is for AAZ to bring out some long awaited positive news and said tipster will likely think he's the messiah!

An interesting article on OilPrice.com with a great reply from the Saudis.
Basically the article highlights the issue that since oil companies have gone green due to investor pressure there is going to be a shortage of oil going forward due to lack of investment. It also asks the elephant in the room question where is all the money coming from to to completely change the base source of fuel for the world in such a short time frame?
I would ask the more obvious question why when we are unable to stop global warming, even the greenies say all we are doing is accelerating it, we are building an energy supply system that is dependant on the weather when extreme weather is what is going to be happening more frequently, strong winds etc are very damaging to solar panels and turbines cant operate in those conditions. Add in why no flood defences are being planned or water and crop security looked at but electric cars are being rushed in and I am confused. I am however an engineer and investor and I can see money making opportunities but sometimes you need to look at the bigger picture I feel.

To quote the article
'...While international oil majors were somewhat more contained in their views on the IEA report—those that commented on it anyway—Saudi Arabia and Russia didn’t beat around the bush and said outright that the suggestion of no new oil and gas investments ever is “unrealistic,” “simplistic,” and taken out of a “La La Land” script.'....
But the Saudi Energy Minister, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, slammed the report in no uncertain terms, saying it was “a sequel of the La La Land movie. Why should I take it seriously?”....

One of his people was very bullish on another gold share many years ago.
Well he was wrong and down it went. Even today that company is not in good shape.
So he and his team get it wrong both ways.
Lets be truthful he tipped AAZ many months ago, was not hard to do it back then at that price.

I very much doubt anyone that posts on here, or reads this thread, needs or wants his advice. We already know this is a winner. We don't need to pay him for his advice.
