I guess gold pulled back on some fake news put out about a vaccine. How many times will the US play that card!

There's too much anger on this board! Collect the divi and chill. Let the banks and central banks do what they wish. If you don't like what they do change them.

Assume closing share price of 140 today, 136 open tomorrow, give or take?

The div is c3.6p, so all else equal, a dip of 3.6p tomorrow *insert questioning shrug emoji* ?

What do we anticipate the ex divi price to be please folks? I struggle with maths sometimes so could do with a hand...gold price notwithstanding. Reckon the dip is on the ‘hope’ of the Pfizer vaccine results...

Just checking in my main focus on P.M’s today as Canada Day. See AA. Is still tracking backwards hmm. AAZ be nice if it went up a tad more before going ex divi.

Otherwise quiet day for me, might revisit my Oz picks, still kicking myself slightly for taking profits, it’s just time zones. Need to convince myself a couple are buy and hold.

I know its a ridiculous thing to say, but one afternoon, at around 3.45, we will be 45 trading minutes from the RNS that lets the shackles off for good.

There's a determined attack on gold today, I wonder how long they will be able to keep it up? How swift will the bounce back be?

Ciniob I have my theories as to the Covid reaction.

It's either to disguise the fact that we were already heading for a massive global financial crash anyway. (Fed had already pumped half trillion dollars in the repo market starting in Sept-19) this would take attention of the elite

or

To try and avert climate disaster by reducing carbon emissions.

Sounds all very tin hat but I can't explain this self destruction going on right now.

Cinoib, I suspect that in other times this would have been passed off as just another flu epidemic, as have those in the past, perhaps 50k to 100k excess deaths might have occurred, mostly in the over 65 age group. However we have a banking collapse to hide, the one that started on 17th Sept when the New York repo-market jammed up, it jammed because the 6 reserve banks that operate the repo-market knew that a good many of the banks using the repo window were highly likely to go bust that very day!

It's significant that none of this is mentioned anywhere in the media, nothing to see here, keep looking at the plague!

It remains to be seen what happens next, or where the FED creating vast amounts of money whilst buying up the bond and stock market, will lead to. One has the foreboding sense that it will make interesting reading 30 years from now.

Printed money will also find its way into the markets.

Venezuela and Zimbabwe has massive gains in their markets as well - albeit most just nominal increases.

The money has to go somewhere and the banks get it first.

Cinoib, I believe that we are heading into an inflationary era due to the massive money creation that's happening, thus commodities and productive farmland being 'real' things will have an innate value regardless of, and separate to the pretend money that is being created. Gold is of course 'real' money, but AAZ is imv a way of holding real money that also pays an income. It remains to be seen how the coming slump plays out, but I'm amazed how the markets continue to defy logic, where is the value?
