For perspective and I don’t hold POG but unless you bought within the last month, there was still opportunity to get out without any major loss today and if you held and sold from earlier this year, you would still have a tidy profit.

As dp says, it might still be a good thing? Whilst London listings have really shown new Russian investors and well impressed them how a good old up standing LSE listing operates lol

the news is everyone is fit & healthy at the mine & production is unaffected. Cash continues to build, a divi is due in 4 weeks time, gold is well over $1,700. The sun is shining and exploration now back to full speed.

As compared to 90% of businesses in the world, that is mighty fine

I agree it does feel like,"funny business". But eventually quality wins through.

On POG, What I think has happened is that because of covid and nobody seeing the threat, the minority holder in POG managed to vote down all the existing "loyalist" directors. Then rather than allow them to take power, the outgoing board have appointed interim loyalist directors, including Hambro, to hold the fort pending an EGM where the loyalists will get voted in. So I'm half tempted to buy back at these prices: nothing has changed really other than we know there is a predator sniffing around

skeptic1, logically if there has been a lot of buying, there must also have been a lot of selling too. But why anyone sells AAZ at these prices escapes me.

Second chance at POG 12pm highlights of AGM call check new RNS. Questions after on divi policy, suspect other questions may appear but who knows if answered.

Pogue,

Yes, looks like some kind of attempt to orchestrate a merger on the cheap, that may or may not be in POG shareholder's best interests? - so out for now. Fortunately in profits from 20p, though obviously missed the chance to sell at 34p. I had high hopes POG could go on to reach £1 long-term, but not investible right now until greater clarity on the situation.

Bonio - I've got some money in the same Blackrock fund that I put away for our grandchildren about 5 years ago. I wanted something I could forget about for around 15 years. If you look at the charts on H-L it does track GDGB ( GDX in £ ) closely over 1 year but GDGB seems to do better over 3 or more years. With retrospect I would probably choose GDGB or the Ninety One (former Investec) Global Gold as these seem to have done slightly better.
I also find the 1-2 day delay built into fund trading rather frustrating because it never seems to work to my advantage!

wise move. I have been chewing it over since I sold out this morning and I am getting more happy with the decision. Strukov and his concert party, wonder if they do weddings, are not going to give up after one attempt to takeover the company and I assume more dirty tricks from him to come from the Russian How to Swindle Shareholders Manual. The sidelines with a profit is the place to be while judging when the mess is sorted and thus time to get back in.
ps cheers odsjp

In fairness, re: buying, lots of buying has gone on over recent weeks but the share price hasn't shifted at all.

I always get confused about funds and the different prices/funds depending upon the platform you look at.
