wan,

always read what people post here with a pinch of salt.

there are several people on these boards though who do have 6- and even 7- figure portfolios, having traded and been successful over many years

re ASC - reminds me of the 'one that could have been' as I bought 100k of them at 3p in march 2003 and sold them for 10p later that year! :(

Wanobi, yes there are many traders here too. That is what makes the Market. Not many say when they sell. They tell you when they buy. But my logic tells me to buy the dips and sell in Jan/Feb. I will post when I sell some. Like I have said everyone to their own strategy. I don't trade to make a few bob. Not worth my time. I do some times sell when the Chart tells me the share is way over bought. To buy back in when the RSI falls back. Just to accumulate more shares.

I'm also struggling a little bit with all these topping up posts, people seem to have endless sources of cash or are taking on more and more margin/leverage or something...!!

every time the share price dips, in come the posts, another top for me,,,,,,, I suppose it could be that people are doing what you say bwana, trading a few on the side, buying the dips and selling the small rises but not posting 'a small top slice for me'.... I don't have time for that...

or is it herd behaviour to keep the message rhythm going 'these are cheap, buy more!! etc etc' to keep the share price rising!!

who knows,,,, people invested in AAZ might well be all very wealthy & successful and I hope they are as it means I'm in the right place, at the right time, with the right people :-)

Cheers

wan,

nope - whilst I appreciate they cannot retain news for releasing at a time that suits...bad news in this market currently needs volume to dampen any fall.

its a bit like releasing news on Friday after 4pm, not looked upon favourably at all

Wanobi, will be buying more to sell later on next year. Another 20/30 K shares if the price is right for me. Everyone to their own thinking I suppose.
A bird in hand is worth 10 in the field etc, etc. Don't forget the Santa Rally either Wan.Happens most years.

plus JORC could come at any time, if its good JORC it'll be January,,,,,, but, if it's bad JORC they may try to sneak it through over Xmas whilst it's quiet, who knows, I'm sure that sort of thing goes on,,,,, although maybe not with AAZ, they seem too honourable for those sorts of games... lol, cheers Wan

morning folks, no bwana I missed ASOS as not long been up. BOO however looks interesting as that “reassurance” statement could still hide a multitude of sins, margins being just one.

Wanobi, AAZ makes $1 Million a week, Trading at 88.6P ?? I find that amusing so I did a top up. Bring it on, I say.
I expect the share price to be above £1 come January. So why sell now ?? Not that I am complaining.
Now what surprises me is you sitting on a chunk of cash !! Why not buy on the dips and sell in a few weeks ?? I don't think the Market is going to take a big hit in the next few weeks. AIMHO of course. NAI.

AAZ normally has a strong run from end December for following 2-3 months & Gold also usually has a good start to the year

This time around the Q4 figures, due mid Jan, will likely be an all time record production & set the scene for a very bullish 2019 production target.

I'd be very surprised if you get your 80p shares as the price action for some time now has been for buyers to keep buying any dips .. given the expected newsflow.

80p price point would represent circa 7.5% yield …. that's too cheap for the market to ignore. 85p is 7% Yield, which is also too cheap

SB, I saw a bit about BOO on CNBC this morning, the guy was saying that the RNS said nothing more than they'd had a record black Monday,,,,,, but, what they did not say is what that actually meant,,, his point 'any one can sell anything at the wrong price' if he'd sold BMW's at £5K per car he'd have sold out and had a great day but lost a fortune!!!!! etc etc… so the RNS could be a smoke screen for really bad profits!!!! cheers Wan

ASC - a big hit but margin reduction to just 2% ?

also endemic of the fact that as one of the best performers recently...if they are struggling then others (especially MKS, DEB etc) must be really bad

interesting to note the reassurance rns quickly pinged out by BOO

here's one I came across recently,,, for us newbies,,,,

"Cable"

Cable is a foreign exchange term used for the GBP/USD currency pair rate. The term cable is a slang term used by forex traders to refer to the exchange rate between the pound and dollar and is also used to simply refer to the British pound itself. The term originated in the mid-19th century, when the exchange rate between the U.S. dollar and British pound began to be transmitted across the Atlantic by a submarine communications cable. Since that time the exchange rate has been referred to as the cable.

fantastic!!!

Cheers

wan,

generally they will disappear this Friday lunch and not back until Weds 2nd Jan.

expect volumes to be significantly down and so volatility could go up and a few unusual moves

remember Monday 24th & 31st will be half day trading, LSE closes at 12:30pm

AAZ - looking like a Monday morning tree shake by the MM's to see what appetite is about for buyers & sellers?

It's fascinating to me, the phrases used and now being adopted by me around this investing world, 'tree shake' for example, lol, cheers Wan

I wonder if Bumpa was up early enough to Short ASOS or Boohoo this morning ??

one other thing on the horizon of which I have absolutely no feel for,...…,,

what happens over the Xmas period?

presumably all the city boys go off to Verbier to spend there well earned bonuses & quaff gallons of 1928 Krug at £20,000 a bottle etc etc....

which leaves the city as a ghost ship and things go quiet?

is it a good time to buy or sell or do nothing or what usually??

Thanx

Cheers

no idea whatsoever why folk would consider to sell this right now. Simply beyond me. Can only assume some need some pennies for Xmas but, suspect they will regret it come January

Klosters, thanx, I'm sure you are correct either way,,,, I can only buy 10K online with HL right now.... I'll see how things go with the order today,,,, all a learning process for me :-) cheers Wan

I should say that I'm not bothered either way really, if the price was to shoot up to 120p today so be it, I have plenty enough AAZ already, however, if my order were to be filled I'd be very happy and even look to buy more should it fall further... Cheers Wan
