Thanks foxy. Yes. A good read.

I'm looking at a long term hold here.
As for the bond. Not my field. However it does smack me as a cheap means to a sizeable stake with some risk. Clever and determined.

Agarwal at Davos 17. Bloomberg.
“There was a proposal that Hindustan and Anglo American should merge," Agarwal said in an interview Thursday at the World Economic Forum in Davos 17. “It was a good match. One and one wasn’t going to be two, but 11”....The billionaire, who praised Anglo’s “phenomenal221; management, said he wouldn’t rule out any future discussions. “It is always good to be thinking better, but at the moment we are not actively talking,” he said.

Whilst it's entirely plausible to view Agarwal comments of "family investment" as disingenuous. Surely. A merger is one ambitious move too far for this guy.

Who else can we consider appropriate?

Gentlemen. I would appreciate your feedback.

if they have a majority in conjunction with the pension fund they can break up the assets and benefit from the sale.

I don't know enough about bonds unfortunately just your average sharedealer. However I was waiting for this opportunity and glad I got back in last week. I think this year will put anglo back on the radar for funds especially when the divi is reinstated. I'm expecting £15 short term and £20 towards back end of next year.

Hi. New here. Bernstein aroused my interest. Not holding any positions just yet.

"We see this move as potentially forcing either Anglo's, or a rival bidder's, hand," Paul Gait, analyst at Bernstein, wrote.

Is there a bona fide rival?

On the low AAL was worth about £3.5bn.They could have bought the whole company then. Also that's when brokers said sell.
