07/10/2018 09:06 | Thanks farty well spotted. Thought these would be higher than where they are now given mid year positive trading results. These were my speculative 2018 pick and bought in start of the year. Had hoped to be in strong position my this stage in the year, still 3 months to go so fairly confident share will finish in blue territory. | paraguay

19/6/2018 00:00 | Given the demands of Aim rules, or rather lack of them in this instance, seems odd to bother with RNS for such a trifling bolt on. | staverly

14/5/2018 08:01 | This is in there somewhere: "The basic earnings per share in the year equates to a profit of GBP0.10 (2017 GBP54.72) this has been driven by the floatation costs as mentioned above, if these were added back the like for like basic earnings per share in this year would be GBP2.89. 26/11/2017 11:02 | MW Thanks for that - Should produce a nice share price uplift on Monday. "The company is not just at the forefront of the online fishing tackle sector, it is also determined to bring stores into the 21st Century, so they are bright, well-stocked and staffed by knowledgeable anglers. Brokers expect maiden annual revenues of £27.3 million for the year to January 31, 2018, a 30 per cent increase year on year. Profits are forecast to rise by 42 per cent to £1 million, moving to £1.6 million in 2019." | pugugly

17/11/2017 06:53 | Hi Jon - Most interested in your views - Reminds me that more years ago than I care to remember one of my first clients in advertising was who were trying at that time to expand into the UK market - they were relativly small then and your comments suddenly brought back their name- Agreed with you I think a very niche market - probaly better investment opportunities in other sectors. | pugugly
16/11/2017 07:44 | Acquisition of North West Angling and Tacklesaver Anone watching ?? share price has been falling but not as much as FISH - Could it be that takle business moving on line to Amazon and e-bay leaving small specialist such as ANG and FISH standed in the rock pools after the tide has gone out never to return ? | pugugly
26/7/2017 10:11 | Angling Direct eyes market consolidation after float 26 Jul 2017 | martywidget
17/7/2017 12:36 | Just a few facts about this stock. The angling market is very fragmented. Lots of small shops. Its need a decent market leader with buying power to negotiate pricing advantage. The shops have in the past suffered because people believe online is cheaper BUT they do price match so need to be more proactive at promoting that to get anglers to use the shops. Accessories and bait is where best margins are not rods and reels which face high Kevel competition from companies such as Eric's angling which are very aggressive on pricing. Trading issues post brexit may have an effect on gross profit in 2017 and 2018 as manufacturers raise prices by 10%+ to reflect falling pound. Possible issues other than the margin squeeze include over expansion. Does the company have sufficient staff to push the acquisition and rebranding phase of growth. The past year has seen stores such as Lincoln, Sheffield and Reading added and it has been a learning process to get those working under the ADBanner. Will the push to expand be manageable? Personally I think they will be a steady earner. No fireworks just a strong business model which other people might be keen to cipy | blakemoor1960
14/7/2017 17:32 | Tks for that | ignoble
14/7/2017 14:58 | Ignoble - Check out Fishing Republic (FISH) as the only other listed player in this sector that I'm aware of. I've had a few of those for a while and done ok - It's been a little sleepy as of late however their online trading improvements should be seen at the next trading update. FISH are opening new sites fairly regularly and seem to have a successful model to scale up with. I think Angling Direct will do well also - Lots of business in this sector currently sat with single site private businesses that can be consolidated by Anglers Direct and Fishing Republic quite comfortably imo.GL all. | tallprawn |
