01/12/2018 00:20 | The actual financial value of AYM in my portfolio has risen around 15% over the last week or so. People who don't hold the stock assume that holders are up 40/50%, whereas in reality, the price movement is exaggerated by MM continually changing the spread of the stock, so, the rise for holdrs is much smaller than non holders emagine. Holders didn't get a 50% gain, MM changed the spread to make it appear so! I see a lot of deluded people on ADVFN. There are no short term traders, and certainly no day traders in AYM. Last week the spread was up to 30%, short termers wouldn't touch AYM with a barge pole. | trader365
30/11/2018 11:48 | Someone explain to me how AYM can own 12% of Labrador Iron Mines (which has assets valued at $1.1M) and yet net current assets for AYM are £7874 (yep!). I would have thought owning a share of a company that has assets counts as owning an asset. | noccer

28/11/2018 09:58 | So who is QME - has anyone wondered? They recently celebrated 30 years in the industry with a dinner, and John Kearney was a guest (you may have heard of him, he's involved - or been involved - in dozens of mining companies, such as Buchan Mining, Canadian Zinc, Brador Iron Mines, Minco, LIM, etc etc and AYM). Over 30 years QME has gone from maintaining mining equipment to having their own mining division who do mining and tunnelling contracts, e.g.Tara mine. They say : "The company is currently engaged in a wide range of mining projects, mainly large-scale underground mine development and narrow vein gold mining, stope extraction, rehabilitation, underground construction and services installation, and also exploration drilling providing all required plant, labour, materials and planning. ... The division also has the capability and expertise to handle, crush and screen large volumes of waste rock and ore on surface or open-pit mines." So what is Tara? - well its Europe's largest zinc mine, its in Ireland, and it was taken over by Swedish company Boliden in 2004. The mine is 1000 metres deep, and they extract zinc, lead and silver. They extract and process about 2.5Mt of ore per year. They employ 580 people - though the mining is highly automated. Just thought you might be interested ,,, | noccer

27/11/2018 18:12 | These men have surely been dragging their feet over the last 10 years but perhaps for good reason If one researches back to 2008 - Western Metals of Perth were about to pay AYM 29.1m AUD for Parys Mountain but the deal fell through due to the global financial crisis and the collapse of the copper price That offer is about 16.4m GBP today and the market cap here is 3m GBP I can understand that their hands have been somewhat tied, but now that the copper price almost doubled since the crash lets hope these men unleash the true value of Parys Mountain | trader365
26/11/2018 22:58 | I'm shocked at the rise today on what looks like very ordinary news. It's the financing of the project that's the difficult bit, regardless of the size of the resource. | andy
